Proposing more than 80 billion VND to support the restoration and prevention of relic degradation in 2024

In recent years, hundreds of historical and cultural relics in Bac Ninh province have received timely investment and restoration from the provincial budget and socialized sources, meeting the legitimate aspirations and needs of the people.

The restoration of relics is carried out strictly, in compliance with the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage and related documents, while ensuring the following principles: Maximum preservation of the original elements constituting the relic, limiting interventions that reduce or change the characteristics and value of the relic; prioritizing preservation and reinforcement, then restoration and embellishment so that the restoration truly helps the relics last over time.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province determined that restoration and embellishment work is of great importance, helping to protect and prolong the life of relics, contributing to preserving and passing on traditional values ​​to future generations.

Synthesizing the proposals of the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and units on funding support for the restoration and prevention of degradation of historical and cultural relics in 2024, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province proposed the Provincial People's Committee to support the restoration and prevention of degradation of 81 relics that have been ranked by the state, including 2 special national relics, 22 national relics and 57 provincial relics with a total estimated cost of more than 80 billion VND.

Bac Ninh has 1,589 relics, of which 656 relics are ranked by the State, including: 4 special national relics, 204 national relics and 448 provincial relics. Of the 1,589 relics, there are 9 revolutionary historical relics ranked by the State and about 50 revolutionary relics and sites that were the places where typical events of the homeland and country took place.
