District 5 Merchants Festival with Vietnamese Ao Dai 2024 is organized by District 5 People's Committee (HCMC) in coordination with District 5 Labor Federation and District 5 Vietnam Women's Union.

This is an activity in response to the 10th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2024.

Tailored ao dai for only 650,000 VND

District 5 Merchants Festival with Vietnamese Ao Dai 2024 took place all day on March 28, at An Dong Trade and Service Center.

This activity contributes to preserving, maintaining and honoring the beauty of Vietnamese ao dai, promoting typical local shopping locations.

The main activities attracting attention include: conical hat decoration contest, collective ao dai performance contest “The beauty of ao dai for businessmen in District 5” ... and more than 20 booths introducing ao dai fabric products, ready-made ao dai, ao dai accessories...

Ms. Dao Thi Anh Tuyet - Deputy Head of the Economic Department of District 5 - said that the People's Committee of District 5 wants to introduce shopping spots, especially traditional markets and ao dai trading streets in District 5 such as: An Dong market, Dong Khanh library, fabric and ao dai trading street on Tran Hung Dao street...

"At first, traders were hesitant to participate because An Dong market traders were used to wholesale. But after persuasion, many units enthusiastically participated, bringing their products to display and introduce. An Dong Trade Service Center is now spacious, has air conditioning, and free WiFi for people" - Ms. Anh Tuyet shared more.

Coming to An Dong Trade and Service Center, Dong Khanh Trade Center on March 28, visitors can shop for fabrics, clothes, handbags, shoes, cosmetics at discounts from 10% to 20%, buy 4 get 1 free, buy 10 get 2 free, 30% discount on ao dai uniforms...

In particular, visitors can have their ao dai tailored immediately within 3 hours for 650,000 VND.

In addition, there are 30 businesses selling Ao Dai fabric, accessories, and ready-made Ao Dai with discounts of up to 50%, buy 2 Ao Dai fabrics and get 1 free pants fabric, 10% off sewing costs, same sewing cost of 400,000 VND... until March 31.

Giving loving ao dai to workers

Ms. Le Thi Bich Hanh - President of the District 5 Labor Federation - said this is the first year to organize a conical hat decoration contest with the theme of celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union.

The contest had 63 teams, attracting 120 contestants. The contestants expressed their love for their homeland and country through creative works, bright colors and meaningful messages.

Conical hat is an item associated with the Ao Dai. This contest contributes to enriching the festival's activities.

The Ao Dai performance competition attracted nearly 20 teams of male and female businessmen, traders, and workers who are doing business and working in wards, markets, and commercial centers in District 5.

Within the festival grounds, the organizers arranged two Ao Dai Yeu Thuong booths to serve free of charge to locals and visitors.

Over the past three years, the Loving Ao Dai program has received and given thousands of Ao Dai to workers, direct production laborers, and women in remote areas.

"Many people responded by donating ao dai fabric, new ao dai, used ao dai but washed, ironed and clearly marked with three measurements, so that the recipient can choose easily" - Ms. Le Thi Bich Hanh told Tuoi Tre Online .
