Converging terrain, abundant resources, Gia Lai 'opens doors' to welcome investors

With its strategic position connecting East - West, North - South, Gia Lai is becoming a potential investment destination. The government wants investors to "do real work, be effective", creating a foundation for sustainable development.

The first Congress of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, passed an important Resolution, opening a new vision for the province's development. The Congress identified a great aspiration: Building Gia Lai to develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming a high-tech center of the region.

The Resolution sets out 10 economic targets, 14 social targets, 7 environmental targets and 2 targets on Party building, with the common focus of bringing Gia Lai "to develop well, together with the whole country firmly entering a new era of development".

To realize the goals in the coming period, Gia Lai will strongly shift its economic structure, forming pillars including processing and manufacturing industry; renewable energy; high-tech agriculture ; services and tourism.

In which, science - technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation and private economy will become the main driving forces for development.

The resolution also pointed out the development of key technology industries, in which semiconductor chips and AI are strategic directions, to improve productivity, quality and competitiveness of the economy; the proportion of digital economy in GRDP will reach 25-30% by 2030.

Infrastructure advantages and new development space

After the merger, Gia Lai province formed a new administrative unit with an area of ​​over 21,500 km² (the second largest in the country) and a population of over 3.5 million people belonging to 35 ethnic groups. This is a diverse cultural space, rich in identity, and at the same time a strategic location located in the center of the East - West, North - South axes, connecting the Central Coast, Central Highlands and Laos, Cambodia, and the Mekong Sub-region.

With more than 600,000 hectares of forest, millions of hectares of fertile agricultural land, diverse ecosystems, 130 km of coastline and 80 km of border, Gia Lai has full potential for developing high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, industry, services and logistics. Experts call Gia Lai “Vietnam in miniature” - the foundation for becoming a modern, dynamic and sustainable province.

Currently, Gia Lai owns 2 economic zones, 24 industrial parks with a total area of ​​9,450 hectares, and 99 industrial clusters with an area of ​​5,400 hectares - creating conditions for implementing large-scale projects, linking production with processing, consumption, and expanding domestic and international markets.

The province's transportation network is diverse, closely connecting major economic centers, with national highways 14, 19, 25; the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway is about to start construction; 2 airports (Phu Cat, Pleiku); Quy Nhon seaport and Phu My deep-water port project - a port capable of receiving ships of over 200,000 tons, promising to become a strategic logistics hub of the entire region.

Regarding digital infrastructure, Gia Lai is growing strongly thanks to the two international submarine optical cable lines with the largest capacity in Vietnam (SJC2 and ADC), becoming an important "network traffic junction", ensuring high-speed Internet, serving IoT, AI, AR/VR applications...

Along with that, a series of large technology, research and training centers have appeared: TMA Solutions Innovation Park; FPT Software, FPT University Branch at Quang Trung Software Park - Gia Lai; AI Center in Long Van Urban Area... This is the nucleus for the innovation ecosystem, aiming to form a Center for high-tech industry, AI and semiconductors.

Continuously improving the investment environment, aiming for an ideal destination

According to Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan, the province aims to develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming a fairly developed locality with a double-digit economic growth rate in the period 2026 - 2030. Gia Lai identifies 5 pillars: Processing and manufacturing industry, renewable energy, AI - semiconductors; Tourism becomes a key economic sector; High-tech agriculture, sustainable forestry; Port services - logistics; Rapid and sustainable urban development.

At the same time, the province is implementing three strategic breakthroughs: building an effective and creative government; promoting science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; and investing heavily in transport infrastructure, logistics, irrigation, and digital infrastructure.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that the province accompanies investors with preferential policies on land, tax, and credit; applies a one-stop mechanism, shortening the licensing time by half. A special working group has been established to remove difficulties for businesses, affirming the spirit of transparency, responsibility, and companionship.

In particular, the province is implementing a project to train 7,500 engineers and bachelors in AI, semiconductors and cyber security by 2030, creating high-tech human resources for the region.
