“Business and Law” Forum 2024: Joining hands to solve legal issues for businesses

At the Hanoi bridge, Comrade Le Thanh Long, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Council for Legal Education Coordination attended and directed the Conference. Comrade Nguyen Hai Ninh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Justice chaired the Forum.

At Tuyen Quang bridge, comrade Hoang Viet Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Legal Dissemination Coordination Council chaired the forum. Attending the forum were comrades: Le Thi Thanh Tra, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and socio- political organizations; leaders of departments, branches, provincial Business Association, Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association; members of the Provincial Legal Dissemination Coordination Council; representatives of the Department of Justice, Justice - Civil Status officials of Tuyen Quang city and Yen Son district.

With the theme "Joining hands to solve legal issues, contributing to creating a favorable investment and business environment for enterprises", the Forum focused on discussing two major issues: legal problems regarding procedures for investment projects using land and solutions to overcome them.

In particular, identifying shortcomings due to conflicts and incompatibilities between legal documents in construction investment activities and difficulties in regulations and implementation; in terms of procedures and preparation time for investment projects; the current time for carrying out licensing procedures is prolonged, slowing down the investment process, causing impacts and difficulties for businesses.

Delegates also focused on discussing legal problems related to tax and solutions to overcome them. In particular, clearly analyzing the difficulties in VAT refunds; procedures for VAT refunds to ensure policy transparency, ensuring VAT refunds according to risk management principles, timely tax refunds for businesses according to the time limit prescribed by the law on tax management...

Speaking at the Forum, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Council for Legal Dissemination and Coordination Le Thanh Long acknowledged the opinions and contributions of delegates at the Forum; requested the Ministry of Justice - the Standing Agency to fully synthesize opinions and recommendations and advise on the Prime Minister's directive and executive documents to assign tasks to agencies, first of all the agencies in charge of implementing the Law projects. He requested ministries and branches to study in an open-minded manner, absorb, revise and explain satisfactorily...
