Involved in a lawsuit, Madam Pang refused to attend her rival's wedding.

Thai media reported that Ms. Nualphan Lamsam (Madam Pang) recently refused to attend the wedding of a child of Mr. Somyot Poompanmoung - the former president of FAT. Ms. Pang did not attend the wedding partly because of the severe rift in her relationship with Mr. Somyot after the lawsuit. The businesswoman decided to take this general and 19 members of the FAT leadership to court.

Previously, FAT was involved in a lawsuit with Siam Sport Syndicate Plc. The problem was a dispute over the contract to exploit the television copyright of the Thai League (Thai National Championship). In 2016, Mr. Somyot Poompanmoung became the Chairman of FAT and said that the contract with Siam Sport was unfair because FAT only received 5% of the profits.

Madam Pang burst into tears over the debt that FAT incurred.

Mr. Somyot then decided to cancel the contract. Siam Sport sued FAT. Finally, the Supreme Court determined that FAT had breached the contract and had to compensate Siam Sport 360 million Baht (equivalent to 272 billion VND). This amount was beyond the ability of the Football Association of Thailand to pay.

Madam Pang pointed out that this whole incident happened during the time of former FAT president Somyot Poompunmuang. Therefore, she decided to bring this general and 19 members of the FAT leadership to court.

However, contrary to media expectations, Madam Pang spoke up to explain her relationship with Mr. Somyot Poompanmoung: " There is a good personal relationship between me and Mr. Somyot Poompanmoung. I have received an invitation to his son's wedding, but will not attend to avoid misunderstandings and bad public opinion at this time. He may be very disappointed.

I think Mr. Somyot will understand my reasons. The lawsuit is not a personal matter but my responsibility and role as President of the Football Association of Thailand .”

Despite many challenges, Madam Pang affirmed that she still holds the position of leader of Thai football. FAT will introduce many special measures such as organizing donations from fans, selling jerseys, inviting people to attend paid music and entertainment events.

FAT needs to pay off its debts quickly to stabilize its finances. Or, they wait for a successful lawsuit against Mr. Somyot and the former leadership to receive a fair amount of compensation.
