On the evening of October 13, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club maintained its No. 1 position when it was crowned the National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup 2025.
This is the 14th championship of the HCMC Women's Club and the 7th consecutive championship, something that no other Vietnamese women's football club has been able to do. The resounding success of the HCMC Women's Football Club is largely due to Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi.
A record that is hard to break
Hanoi Women's Club won the national championship for the 10th time in 2014, far surpassing Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club which only had 4 championships at that time. However, the appearance of Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi as the head coach of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club in 2015 created a historic reversal in performance.
In his first year in charge, this famous former player led the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club to win the 2015 national championship with 12 unbeaten matches (9 wins), 1 point more than the Hanoi Club.
And since then, Coach Kim Chi has led the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club to win 9 more national championships. In addition, there was a gold medal at the 2018 National Sports Festival after three consecutive victories, including a 1-0 victory over host Hanoi.
2018 was also the only year that the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club's consecutive national championship journey under the leadership of coach Kim Chi was interrupted, when it only won second place.
The incident of 4 players from HCMC Women's Club and 2 from Vietnam Coal and Minerals Club being suspended for fighting in the semi-finals caused Coach Kim Chi's team to not have the strongest force. As a result, HCMC Women's Club lost 0-1 to Phong Phu Ha Nam in the final match right at Thong Nhat Stadium.

The best coach in women's football history
During her playing career, Kim Chi and her teammates won 4 SEA Games gold medals, 1 Southeast Asian championship, 4 national championships, 4 times won the "Vietnam Women's Golden Ball"... A dream achievement for any female player in Vietnam.
But in her coaching career, Kim Chi has been even more outstanding. 10 national championships and 1 gold medal at the National Sports Festival in 11 seasons are a clear testament to the 46-year-old coach's talent.
Remember, the strength of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club in the past two seasons is no longer strong when a series of key female players left such as goalkeeper Kim Thanh, midfielder Bich Thuy, center back Tran Thi Thu... Many other key players are old such as Thuy Trang, Bao Chau, Huynh Nhu...
But with her coaching ability and good tactics, Coach Kim Chi has brought the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club to consecutive glory.
Notably, not only did Coach Kim Chi bring the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club to the top in the domestic arena, she also brought her students to play enthusiastically in the continental arena for the first time.
Last year, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club reached the semi-finals of the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Women's and only stopped at the home team Wuhan Jiangda (China) - the team that later won the championship.
Busy with coaching work, then becoming assistant to coach Mai Duc Chung in the Vietnam women's team, coach Kim Chi did not have time to attend professional coaching classes. Up to now, this coconut girl only has a B license, but her coaching ability is hard to match.

Of which, VFF awarded 500 million VND, Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation awarded 500 million VND, and Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee awarded 100 million VND.
