According to the draw results for the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League for Women announced on the afternoon of September 11, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club, as the second seeded team, entered Group C with Stallion Laguna (Philippines), Lion City Sailors (Singapore) and the current runner-up Melbourne City (Australia).
They avoided Wuhan Jiangda Club (China), the winner in the AFC Champions League women's semi-finals last season, and the defending champion in the group stage this year.
Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi's team will be the host of this group. The matches will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC) from November 13 to 19. Playing at home will bring a great advantage to Huynh Nhu and her teammates.
Coach Kim Chi shared: "In this group, in addition to the Australian representative being a strong opponent and potential candidate in the group, the two opponents Stallion Laguna and Lion City Sailors also have many naturalized and foreign players.
So calculating how to beat them is not easy, but the whole team will try to achieve the goal of passing the group stage because we have the advantage of playing at home."

The 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Women's Group Stage has 12 participating teams, divided into 3 groups, each group competes at a centralized location including Vietnam, Myanmar and China, playing in November.
The eight clubs, including the top two teams in each group and the two best third-placed teams, will then progress to the knockout stage, with the first and second leg quarter-final pairings to be determined by a draw, taking place in March 2026.
Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club is the most traditional team in Vietnamese women's football with 13 national championships and 3 national cup championships. They are also the first Vietnamese team to reach the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League for women.
That was in the 2024 - 2025 season, Huynh Nhu and her teammates made history when they won 5-4 Abu Dhabi Country at home in the Asian quarterfinals. When they reached the semi-finals, the team lost to Wuhan Jiangda with a score of 0-2.
