That is the Slovenian women's volleyball team. On the evening of August 26, they entered the final match of Group D as the weakest team in the group. In this group, the US team had already won their ticket to the next round.

The remaining chances are given to Slovenia, Czech Republic and Argentina. Before the final round, Czech Republic and Argentina have a great chance with a record of 1 win, 1 loss. Meanwhile, Slovenia's record is 2 losses and is at the bottom of the table.

Participating in the tournament for the first time, with not so good results, Slovenia was considered the first team to be eliminated from group D. In the final round, they had to face a powerful, enthusiastic Argentina.

In South America, this team is only inferior to a very strong Brazil. But entering the decisive match, Slovenia played with resilience and determination.

In particular, main striker Fatoumatta Sillah played brilliantly with 22 points, helping the European representative win an unbelievable 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-21).

Slovenia was also lucky that the US played seriously to beat the Czech Republic. Group D ended with all three teams having a record of 1 win, 2 losses. But Slovenia got 4 points, while Argentina got 3 points and the Czech Republic only got 2 points.

Thanks to that, Slovenian women's volleyball team created an earthquake with the second place in the group and won a ticket to the round of 16 in the first time participating. This can be considered the biggest shock since the beginning of the tournament.
