Ho Chi Minh City Police Team to participate in V-League 2025/26

On the afternoon of August 8, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club held a launching ceremony, launched the team, introduced the logo and competition uniform for the 2025-2026 season.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Major General Le Hong Hiep - Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work of the Ministry of Public Security ; Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - President of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

On the side of Ho Chi Minh City Police, there were Lieutenant General Mai Hoang - Party Secretary, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police - and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City Police.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc shared: "The restoration and development of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club not only contributes to the development of city football, but also makes a practical contribution to the development of national sports , bringing joy, spirit and new momentum to the people of the city.

We hope that the team will constantly strive, be united, disciplined, creative, maintain a noble and professional competitive spirit, and be worthy of representing the city named after Uncle Ho in the national sports arena; strive towards a future with excellent players reaching international sports level."

In recent times, the Central Party Committee of the Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security have paid special attention to sports activities in the force, especially in the field of professional football. With the desire to bring the Ho Chi Minh City Police back to its rightful position as the pride of the People's Public Security force, last July, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee officially transferred the Ho Chi Minh City Club (currently competing in the V.League) to the Ho Chi Minh City Police, and the team was renamed the Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club.

The coaching staff of the HCM City Police Club is led by Coach Le Huynh Duc, with assistants including Mr. Phung Thanh Phuong, Hoang Hung and Chau Chi Cuong. Regarding the squad, the players with good skills from the previous HCM City Club are retained such as: goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang, defender Vo Huy Toan, center back Tran Hoang Phuc, midfielder Endrick Santos, Quoc Cuong, striker Bui Van Binh...

In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club also added a series of quality new recruits such as the 2024 Vietnam Golden Ball - striker Nguyen Tien Linh, Pham Duc Huy (from Nam Dinh Club), Dang Van Lam (Quang Nam), Nguyen Duc Phu (PVF-CAND), Le Quang Hung (SHB Da Nang)... Regarding foreign players, Ho Chi Minh City Police owns two extremely high-quality new contracts including central defender Matheus Felipe (Brazil) and central midfielder Samuel Bastien (dual Belgian and Congolese nationality).
