The only medical unit at the Vietnam - Cambodia trade connection conference

(Dan Tri) - At the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Connection Conference 2025 organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with other units, a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City was the only medical unit attending.

In mid-July, in Ho Chi Minh City, the "Vietnam - Cambodia Business Connection Conference 2025" took place, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam in coordination with the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Association (VCBA) and the Center for International Integration, Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies.

The Vietnam - Cambodia Business Connection Conference 2025 attracted nearly 300 Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses to attend.

The conference includes direct trading activities, product displays, and service introductions in many fields such as: agricultural products, seafood, agricultural materials, textiles, packaging, food, cosmetics, consumer goods, electrical equipment, machinery, fertilizers, banking, real estate, transportation and logistics.

In the medical field, Nam Sai Gon International General Hospital was the only medical unit attending the conference. Here, the unit had the opportunity to connect and expand international cooperation in the field of treatment - health care; introduce modern medical services and technology to Cambodian partners.

Saigon South International General Hospital also has activities to promote the potential for cross-border medical cooperation, aiming at medical examination and treatment services for Cambodian people in Vietnam, as well as two-way corporate health care programs.

Nam Sai Gon International General Hospital has been established and developed for 7 years. According to 2024 data, the hospital receives more than 13% of outpatient visits from foreigners. Of which, Cambodian patients alone account for 92%.

These figures not only reflect the quality of expertise, but also show the hospital's growing appeal on the cross-border medical map.

"With the goal of becoming a trusted medical destination for both domestic and international patients, Nam Sai Gon International General Hospital is ready to expand international cooperation, improve service quality and spread humanistic medical values ​​to the regional community," said a representative of the unit.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Do Quoc Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Market Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries with a special traditional friendship. In particular, economic and trade are the areas that the leaders of the two countries prioritize to promote.

This conference is one of the specific and practical activities, not only contributing to realizing the goal of sustainable bilateral trade growth, but also creating a premise for building a more modern, effective and balanced trade cooperation ecosystem between the two economies.

On the Cambodian side, Mr. Oknha Leng Rity, Chairman of the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Association (VCBA), said that Cambodian businesses are increasingly interested in accessing goods, technology and management models from Vietnam.

After the conference, the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Association (VCBA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, establishing a close coordination mechanism, promoting the sharing of market information and implementing joint promotion programs in the coming time.

On the sidelines of the conference, product display areas with nearly 25 booths introduced key export products with competitive strengths of both countries, attracting the attention of many importers, distributors and retailers.
