Promoting existing advantages from economic , industrial and infrastructure development; at the same time exploiting new growth potential, associated with important projects such as Long Thanh International Airport will be the driving force for the locality to develop quickly and sustainably.

High determination

In the period of 2021-2025, despite facing many difficulties and challenges after the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and economic and political fluctuations in the world, Dong Nai's economy still has strong development steps. The local economic growth rate in the period of 2021-2025 reached 7.11%/year, in 2025 alone, striving for double-digit economic growth. Export turnover reached tens of billions of USD/year; in 2025, the province set a target of surpassing the 32 billion USD mark.

Dong Nai, along with Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh, are currently the poles leading economic growth for the region as well as the whole country. With an open investment environment, completed infrastructure, and expanded space, Dong Nai continues to be an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors. That creates the position and strength for Dong Nai to enter a new period of development.

Dong Nai continues to transform its growth model associated with restructuring the economy towards modernization; applying science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; strongly developing the private economy, expanding economic sectors, contributing to promoting double-digit growth.

The 1st Congress of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, determined the general goal: Building Dong Nai province to develop green, rich, civilized, modern, becoming the driving force for development of the Southeast region and the whole country; striving to basically meet the criteria of a centrally-run city by 2030.

With the above consistent goals, the congress set out 29 main targets for the 2025-2030 term on party building, economy, culture - society, resources - environment, national defense - security. In particular, the average GRDP growth rate will reach 10%/year or more. By 2030, the total product in the area (GRDP at current prices) will reach over 1.2 million billion VND; GRDP per capita will reach over 250 million VND; the proportion of digital economy in GRDP will reach over 30%. The average growth rate of state budget revenue in the area will be 10-12%/year...

The above basic goals and targets demonstrate the high determination of the Party Committee, government and local people in realizing and striving to turn the province into a modern city by 2030.

Promoting new drivers for growth

After a long period of efforts, Dong Nai now has a strong potential, economy, human resources, and development space that are among the top in the country with its diversity. Dong Nai currently possesses all means of transportation and transport by road, sea, inland waterway, railway, and air. In particular, the province has Long Thanh International Airport, Hoa Lu International Border Gate, North-South Railway and important seaports such as Phuoc An Port, Go Dau, Phu Huu. The road traffic system with many major highways passing through the area, along with belt roads and intra-provincial roads that have been and are being built.

Dong Nai is also one of the leading localities in industrial development in the country. The province has 83 planned industrial parks, attracting more than 2,600 investment projects from domestic and foreign investors. Dong Nai's industry is diverse, from large-scale production concentrated in industrial parks to rural industry and processing industry associated with local raw materials.

According to comrade Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in the coming time, Dong Nai will promote the development of key industries and professions such as: digital economy, green economy, circular economy, sharing economy, knowledge economy, aviation economy, high-tech industry, science, technology and innovation... Human resources with high knowledge, intelligence and technical content, approaching international standards will also be a factor to promote the local economy to develop quickly and sustainably.

Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh, Director of the Institute of Business Research (Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics), member of the Socio-Economic Advisory Group of Dong Nai province, commented: In the new context, Dong Nai needs to develop economic infrastructure in a synchronous manner to exploit the full potential and advantages of the province. In particular, it is necessary to invest in developing economic infrastructure in a modern direction, in line with the trend of science and technology development. Innovate investment and development thinking, innovate mechanisms and methods of investment, business and management to mobilize all resources.

According to Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh, Long Thanh International Airport is an important highlight, bringing new growth drivers to the locality. The development of good technical infrastructure is the foundation for the sustainable socio-economic development of the province, while contributing to the development of the Southern key economic region. And this is also the time to prepare for a new breakthrough.
