Speaking at the conference, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Tuan Anh emphasized: Dong Nai has large mineral reserves in the Southeast region. In the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, thousands of hectares of land are reserved for mineral exploitation. By the end of June 2025, the whole province had 78 licensed mineral mines under the authority of the Provincial People's Committee, of which 46 mines were in operation, basically meeting the demand for materials for traffic works, infrastructure construction, especially key national projects.

The Law on Geology and Minerals, effective from July 1, 2025, is considered an important step forward in resource management, with many outstanding goals such as: Fully institutionalizing the Party's policies and the State's legal policies; creating a transparent and synchronous legal corridor, overcoming overlaps and inadequacies of the 2010 Law on Minerals; at the same time ensuring compliance with international practices, promoting sustainable development.

To promptly and synchronously implement the law, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 21/KH-UBND dated July 28, 2025 on training and professional guidance for officials and civil servants working in state management and organizations and individuals operating in the mineral sector.

At the conference, the reporter from the Vietnam Geology and Minerals Department introduced new points of the Law on Geology and Minerals; discussed and clarified regulations directly related to business activities, such as the management of minerals in group 4, or the confirmation of mineral recovery registration under the authority of the People's Committee at the commune level.

The leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment requested departments, branches, and People's Committees at commune and ward levels to proactively study and implement laws and guiding documents according to their authority. Mineral exploitation enterprises should update, review, and strictly implement new regulations in production and business activities. Thereby, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management of geology and minerals, while helping enterprises and localities promptly grasp new legal regulations, serving sustainable socio -economic development.
