Crowds of people flock to Sam Mountain Tourist Area on the first day of the new year

From early morning on January 29, the first day of the Lunar New Year 2025, people and vehicles from all over poured into the Sam Mountain National Tourist Area, Chau Doc City, An Giang Province to make a pilgrimage, worship the Lady of Sam Mountain, visit and check-in at the Sam Mountain Cable Car.

From 7am on the first day of Tet, the Traffic Police and the Police of Nui Sam Ward, Chau Doc City were present, ready to regulate and divert traffic, and clear congestion from the welcome gate of the Nui Sam National Tourist Area, towards the Temple of Lady Chua Xu of Nui Sam.

According to records, thousands of tourist cars and motorbikes of all kinds along with the number of visitors poured into the Sam Mountain National Tourist Area. As the afternoon approached, the flow of people and vehicles coming to make pilgrimages became more and more crowded, causing some routes such as Chau Thi Te, Sam Mountain Round Road, where there are two front and back gates leading to Sam Mountain Lady Temple, to experience local congestion.

However, the functional forces including police, militia and security guards at the Temple were present in time to maintain security and order, avoiding jostling and pushing in the sacred place.

According to folk beliefs and religious beliefs of many people, going to the temple of Lady of Sam Mountain at the beginning of the year will pray for peace and luck.

Because Chau Thi Te Street, passing through the back door of Ba Chua Xu Temple of Sam Mountain this year, does not prohibit cars (under 30 seats), so vehicles entering inside are guided by traffic police to the parking lot of Sam Mountain Cable Car Tourist Area nearby, creating timely ventilation, not causing major congestion.

After worshiping, tourists spread out to visit and experience the Sam Mountain Cable Car Tourist Area, opposite the Lady of the Land Temple.

Moving into the area inside the Sam Mountain Lady Temple, thousands of pilgrims respectfully offered gifts, flowers, and incense. Many people said that they went to pagodas and temples on the first day of the year to pray for their families to have peace, good luck, and safety throughout the year.

However, due to the large number of people, the security force and the Management Board of Nui Sam Temple continuously used loudspeakers to remind visitors to limit the burning of incense, which affects the air environment. At the same time, they reminded everyone to be careful with their belongings and luggage, and to be on guard against theft in crowded areas.

After worshiping, visitors spread out to surrounding destinations in the Sam Mountain area. In particular, the Sam Mountain Cable Car Tourist Area has a 10-hectare campus with many miniature landscapes for visitors to visit and check-in.

Foreign tourist families check in and share many emotions when celebrating Vietnam's traditional New Year.

At the station area at the foot of the mountain, many tourists visited the flower village, the calligraphy street, the One Pillar Temple, the Mural Painting Village, and the Medicine Temple. In particular, a family of foreign tourists came to visit and experience the tourist area, and at the same time shared their good feelings when celebrating the traditional Vietnamese New Year for the first time.

Then, visitors take the cable car to the top of the mountain to pay homage to the relics of Ba Chua Xu's pedestal, visit the Jade Buddha Temple, Quan Am Temple, check-in at the Golden Mountain, Silver Mountain...

In the National Tourist Area, there are also famous pagodas such as Tay An Ancient Pagoda, Hang Pagoda (Phuoc Dien Pagoda) located on the slope of Sam Mountain with very unique architecture.
