Dong Thap urgently builds 2 projects to prevent landslides on Tien River banks

On October 19, information from the People's Committee of Dong Thap province said that Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - issued an order to build two emergency projects to prevent landslides on the banks of the Tien River.

Accordingly, the Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee has issued an order to urgently construct a project to overcome erosion on the Tien River in the Tien River embankment area, Thuong Phuoc commune.

The construction area of ​​the project is located in the section that has experienced landslides and subsidence with a length of about 370m including the embankment lock. At the same time, the Dong Thap Provincial Project Management Board is assigned as the investor to implement from now until the end of 2026.

The urgent project to repair landslides on the banks of the Tien River at Nguyen Huong Street (Tan Tich and Tinh Hung hamlets), Cao Lanh Ward aims to repair landslides and subsidence on the banks of the Tien River, promptly ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.

The dangerous landslide section is about 520m long. The Project Management Board for Construction Investment in Area 1 is assigned as the investor.

Construction time from the date of issuance of the order to the end of 2026.

At the same time, the People's Committee of Cao Lanh Ward is assigned to preside over and continue to send forces on duty (24/7) to closely monitor the landslide situation; strictly prohibit vehicles and people from passing through the landslide area; ensure absolute safety of life and minimize damage to people's property.
