Viettel Group said that on October 8-9, Viettel Post deployed a drone system in Nga My commune, Thai Nguyen, carrying out 200 flights to transport 5 tons of necessities. In addition, the drone also guided rescue forces 30 times to deeply flooded and completely isolated areas.
On the night of October 8, a family with a 4-month-old baby suffered from high fever and convulsions in the middle of the flood. The team used a drone to fly over the flooded area, delivering medicine and necessities in a timely manner.
The unit's drones have a maximum flight range of 5 km and an operating altitude of 100 m. The maximum payload per flight is 50 kg. Each flight takes only 5 minutes to complete the mission. The device can operate continuously 24/7 thanks to the fast charging and battery replacement mechanism.
A Viettel representative said drones help shorten the time it takes to reach isolated people. This technology is especially effective when conventional vehicles cannot move, especially important in emergency situations due to natural disasters.
