Just getting off the bus, dozens of tourists quickly walked towards the foot of the hill, where there were green mangosteen, avocado, durian trees full of fruit to pick and enjoy. The bustling, exciting atmosphere created closeness for many families and the excitement of the trip .

Choosing durian to pick on the trip

In June, when heavy rains fall steadily in Binh Thuan, it is also the season of ripe fruit. This is also the time of summer vacation for students, so many parents take their children on vacation after days of studying. Many parents in close groups of friends often discuss choosing the "going to the sea" or "going to the forest" package. If people live in coastal areas such as Phan Thiet or La Gi or further away, Vung Tau and other places, the priority is always community tourism in gardens - waterfalls - lakes. As for people in other provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong ... "going to the forest, going to the sea" are both prioritized so that their children can have practical learning experiences.

Summer, the season of green and red rambutan clusters hanging from the branches, ripe mangosteens with beautiful purple colors or ripe durians falling and spreading their fragrance throughout the garden, creating a unique nuance of the countryside. This is also the time when children living in urban environments who do not know much about fruit trees are taken by their parents to travel to experience picking fruit and eating it on the spot. At the same time, they also gain more knowledge about fruits of Vietnam and the tropics...

Mr. Nguyen Kien - a business in the transportation industry in Phan Thiet, has just organized a trip for his family and friends of more than 20 people to Da Mi, said: My company's driver has taken many domestic and foreign tourist groups to Da Mi, I have not been there yet but I have heard that every group has praised it. Listening to tourists tell stories about the poetic beauty of the mountain and forest landscape, Ham Thuan lake with a picturesque view, and being able to pick mangosteen, avocado, durian, and macadamia nuts to eat in the garden, my wife and children "forced" me to go on a trip to experience it. It was indeed a quite interesting trip...

People climb and tiptoe to pick mangosteens in Da Mi

I was quite surprised when a group of tourist buses had just stopped at May va Gio to rest and drink coffee before going down to the wharf to tour the lake, when people in the group discovered a row of mangosteen trees near the stop with many ripe fruits, so many people invited each other to pick them. Some people climbed the trees to pick the ripe fruits high up, others tiptoed to pick the ripe fruits within reach. The scene of picking fruit was quite funny when the fragrant ripe mangosteens were passed around to peel and enjoy. Seeing everyone "naturally" picking mangosteens, I blurted out: Have you asked the owner yet to pick them so freely? Mr. Vinh, who was standing with his hand reaching out to pick mangosteens, replied: I contacted the director in advance, and was guaranteed to pick and eat as much as I could, and picking and eating like that is what makes the trip to the garden worthwhile. Before Mr. Vinh could finish his sentence, Mr. Mai Van Minh - Director of Da Mi Tourism Company drove back on a motorbike carrying nearly 20 durians, and the group of guests continued to enjoy the delicious durian.

Late afternoon on Qi Tian Island, Vinh and Kien's group went to pick avocados and macadamia nuts. Ha Nhi, Kien's daughter, was delighted when she told her father: This is the first time I saw fresh macadamia nuts still on the branches and got to pick them to eat. The durians had many fruits hanging on the branches, looking strangely attractive. I like this trip because I learned a lot about fruits and the countryside, Dad... In Kien's group, I saw the women "carrying" many kinds of fruits. When I asked, I found out that because they ate the fruits on the spot, they thought the fruits were clean so they bought them as gifts for their siblings, friends, and relatives...

Besides the beautiful coastline which is the “cradle” to build the foundation for tourism development, Binh Thuan also has a lot of potential for tourism development with rural models, traditional craft villages, lakes – waterfalls – forests. In particular, lake – waterfall tourism combined with the experience of fruit gardens where you can pick and eat on the spot is a “hot” tour this summer…
