Garden ecotourism needs to have new features and its own characteristics.

(CTO) On September 17, Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, led a delegation to survey the islets in Nhon My commune. The delegation included leaders of the city's departments and branches. Accompanying the delegation were Mr. Lam Dung Liem, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Commune People's Council; and Mr. Cao Minh Thom, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon My commune.

Nhon My commune has islets such as: My Phuoc islet; Ly Quyen islet and Noi No. 3 islet. Accordingly, My Phuoc islet has a natural area of ​​more than 1,020 hectares, a length of more than 5km, 2,036 mouths and a long dike around the islet about 10km long. My Phuoc islet is planned as an eco-tourism area with an area of ​​1.4 hectares and 0.7 hectares of planned scenic area. The islet has been approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as a model of riverside eco-tourism area in the list of pilot models under the Rural Tourism Development Program in new rural construction for the period 2021-2025. Ly Quyen islet has an area of ​​37 hectares, with 11 households living there and Noi No. 3 has an area of ​​126 hectares (public land) with no residents. For Ly Quyen Islet and Floating Islet No. 3, the People's Committee of Soc Trang Province (old) signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 1808/UBND-TH, dated August 27, 2019, directing the implementation of the project of an eco-resort combined with a golf course in Song Phung Commune (old).

The leaders of Nhon My Commune People's Committee proposed the leaders of Can Tho City Party Committee to support the commune in building a dike from the Hau River to beautify the front of My Phuoc Islet Tourist Area. Upgrade and open a new road to the tourist ferry terminal through My Phuoc Islet, Ly Quyen Islet, and Noi Islet No. 3. At the same time, invest in a bridge to connect My Phuoc Islet through Ly Quyen Islet and a bridge connecting Ly Quyen Islet through Noi Islet No. 3, so that tourists can visit the orchard; upgrade the dike surrounding Con Noi Islet No. 3; support and guide the commune in establishing a Management Board of the tourist area...

Through a field survey of the islet sites in Nhon My commune, Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, suggested that Nhon My commune strengthen propaganda work to the people about creating a "bright - green - clean - beautiful" landscape on the rural traffic routes around the islet; develop ideas for garden ecotourism that need to have new points, unique characteristics to attract tourists when visiting and ecotourism must mobilize many households to participate in implementation. Mr. Tran Van Huyen requested relevant departments and branches to study and support Nhon My commune in upgrading and reinforcing the islet dike in a timely manner to protect the people's fruit gardens; develop ideas for developing garden ecotourism areas to maintain sustainable development.
