Bringing the remains of 34 martyrs to the Martyrs Cemetery of Quang Tri ward

On the afternoon of October 21, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri Ward and the Management Board of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Relic Site to organize a ceremony to bring the remains of 34 martyrs searched and collected by Collection Team 584 in Quang Tri Ward to the martyrs' cemetery.

This meaningful work is to prepare for the memorial service and burial of the heroic martyrs to be held tomorrow morning, October 22.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Le Duc Tien and the Provincial Military Command saw off the martyrs' remains to the Quang Tri Ward Martyrs' Cemetery.

Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Quang Tri Province Le Duc Tien. Colonel Hoang Xuan Dong, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command, along with local organizations and people.

The ceremony took place in a solemn, respectful and emotional atmosphere, expressing the deep gratitude of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Quang Tri province to the heroic martyrs who fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the happiness of the people.

The convoy of cars took the martyrs from the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Relic Site to the Quang Tri Ward Martyrs Cemetery.

Previously, 34 martyrs' remains were discovered and collected by the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team 584 in Quang Tri ward, where the 81-day and night campaign to protect Quang Tri town and the Citadel took place in the summer of 1972. The martyrs' remains were found along with many relics such as infantry shovels, helmets, AK ammunition boxes...

Comrade Le Duc Tien highly appreciated the spirit, responsibility and efforts to overcome difficulties of the officers and staff of the Martyr Remains Collection Team 584 in the process of carrying out this noble task.
