EVN issued an urgent dispatch to respond to storm No. 11 and overcome the consequences of storm No. 10.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has just issued a telegram to its member units on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 and proactively responding to storm No. 11.

Telegram sent to: Son La, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Huoi Quang - Ban Chat, Ialy, Se San Hydropower Companies; Thai Binh Thermal Power Company; Power Project Management Boards 1, 2, 3; Power Generation Corporations 1, 2, 3; National Power Transmission Corporation; Northern Power Corporation, Central Power Corporation, Hanoi City; Power Telecommunications and Information Technology Company; Power Communications and Information Center.

According to the telegram, units must strictly implement the instructions of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , comply with the contents of the telegrams No. 7532/CD-BCT and 7580/CD-BCT. The direct leader must absolutely not be subjective in any situation.

EVN requests the National Power Transmission Corporation, the Northern Power Corporation, the Central Power Corporation and power generation corporations to focus on handling incidents, overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10, and restoring safe power supply as soon as possible.

Units must monitor the developments of storm No. 11 and regularly update forecasts and warnings from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and the National Civil Defense Steering Committee.

Units must organize 24/7 duty and coordinate with media agencies to provide accurate and timely information.

Hydropower units are required to monitor and collect hydrometeorological information; operate reservoirs to ensure safety; deploy flood discharge, flood cutting and flood reduction plans when necessary; and arrange forces to promptly handle emergency situations.

Power grid units must strengthen the grid, reinforce weak points, ensure the operation of transformer stations at risk of flooding; prepare backup diesel generators; and be ready to mobilize forces to coordinate in handling incidents and damage caused by natural disasters.

Affected units must fully update data to SMIS software before 07:00, 13:00 and 19:00 every day. The leaders of the corporations are responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the information.

The dispatch was issued based on the directions of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Directives No. 07/CT-BCT, 1777/CT-EVN on natural disaster prevention and search and rescue, to ensure safety of life, limit property damage and soon restore production and stabilize life.
