7 years after the success of Song Lang (2018), director Leon Le returns with his second film - Quan Ky Nam . The work continues Leon Le's passion for memory, art and closeness between people, set in the context of Ho Chi Minh City in the 1980s. Notably, the film was shot entirely on 35mm film.

The film revolves around Khang - a young translator who comes to Ho Chi Minh City to take up a new job, where he meets Ky Nam, an older woman who makes a living by cooking for the residents in the apartment building. Although initially shy, their friendship gradually blossoms and develops into a bond that transcends age, pain and circumstances.
Khang's appearance gradually disrupts Ky Nam's quiet life, causing two sensitive and sympathetic souls to find comfort. Secrets are gradually revealed, new characters gradually appear, leading to stories full of current events.
The teaser trailer begins with a dialogue-free scene between Khang (played by Lien Binh Phat) and Ky Nam (played by Hai Yen). It seems that the two are in a private space in the old residential area - the main setting of the film. No words are spoken between the two, but Ky Nam's eyes, sparkling like an autumn lake, are more than any confession, and Khang's voice seems to implicitly acknowledge the close relationship between the two.

The trailer takes viewers through simple, intimate scenes of residential areas and streets of Ho Chi Minh City, both strange and familiar, more than 40 years ago. From living space, sound, light to daily life, every detail is taken care of, creating a visual feast.
The film’s central love story is also delicately portrayed by director Leon Le. Khang and Ky Nam’s eyes, gestures, and even their deliberate avoidance of eye contact convey more than words, like an undercurrent, smoldering yet persistent, restrained yet beautiful.
The trailer ends with the same scene as it began, when Khang approaches Ky Nam with a half-reserved, half-expectant look.

Meanwhile, the teaser poster is a close-up image of the two main characters, although not looking into each other's eyes, it brings a gentle, understanding feeling of two soulmates, also partly telling their silent love story.
This project not only marks the return to cinema of Leon Le after 7 years, but also of Do Thi Hai Yen and Lien Binh Phat. While Hai Yen has been absent from the screen for quite a long time, Lien Binh Phat is a familiar name to audiences through popular reality TV shows, and recently a Taiwanese TV series that has also been well received by audiences.

The film had its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in the Special Presentations section, screened in the A Window on Asian Cinema section at the 2025 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), screened in the Special Presentations section at the Bangkok International Film Festival, and was selected to compete at the 2025 Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF).
The movie is scheduled to premiere on November 28.
