Mr. Le Van Khai, Acting Director of the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) and Mr. Le Van Nam, Deputy General Director of VDB and Director of Transaction Office I signed the credit contract.
The 220kV Than Uyen – 500kV Lao Cai transmission line project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed and operated by NPMB on behalf of the investor, and Power Transmission Company 1 will take over operation after completion.
The project scale includes the construction of a new 220kV double-circuit line from the 220kV Than Uyen transformer station ( Lai Chau province) to the 500kV Lao Cai transformer station, with a total length of 73.5 km.
Of which, the section passing through Lai Chau province is 5.8 km long (12 pole positions) located in Muong Than commune; the section passing through Lao Cai province is 67.7 km long (including 144 pole positions) passing through 9 communes including: Nam Xe, Minh Luong, Duong Quy, Van Ban, Nam Chay, Vo Lao, Tang Loong, Bao Thang and Xuan Quang.
Once completed, the project will be of great significance in enhancing the power transmission capacity, meeting the demand for releasing the capacity of hydropower plants in Lai Chau and Lao Cai areas to the national power system, contributing to ensuring stable and continuous power supply for the region.
Along with that, the project contributes to reducing power loss, improving the efficiency of electricity production and business of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), and at the same time actively contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality and region.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Nam, Deputy General Director of VDB and Director of Transaction Office I, said: EVNNPT is a traditional customer in credit relations with VDB. The state investment credit contract to finance the 220kV Than Uyen - 500kV Lao Cai transmission line project is a concrete implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between EVNNPT and VDB.
The signing ceremony of the State Investment Credit Contract affirms the position of Transaction Office I in the VDB system. It affirms that VDB is effectively carrying out its mission in supporting and promoting the country's economic development, especially in the field of investment in building economic and social infrastructure.
VDB commits to continue to closely coordinate with EVNNPT and its member units throughout the project implementation process and believes that the project will be completed on schedule, with high efficiency, bringing practical benefits to the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Khai, Acting Director of NPMB, said: This is an urgent project that plays an important role in ensuring national energy security. The signing not only marks a concrete step in the project implementation process, but also demonstrates the trust and effective coordination between major State organizations towards the goal of sustainable development of the energy sector.
NPMB highly appreciates the responsibility and support of the Vietnam Development Bank, especially Transaction Office I, throughout the appraisal and capital arrangement process for the project. This support is not only a financial resource but also a belief for NPMB to continue implementing other projects in the future.
NPMB commits to strictly and fully implement the terms of the credit contract; use capital for the right purpose, ensure investment efficiency and closely coordinate with Transaction Office I throughout the disbursement and project implementation process. At the same time, we believe that the project will be implemented on schedule, ensuring quality and investment efficiency.
