Education New Zealand (ENZ) in collaboration with the Embassy and Consulate General of New Zealand organized the New Zealand Education Fair in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi on October 11 and 12, respectively. The event gathered 47 New Zealand educational institutions in various types from general education, university education and vocational education, 6 more units than in 2024 and also the largest ever.
It is known that participating schools all offer scholarships for foreigners in general and Vietnamese in particular. Among them, there are scholarships only for students who apply directly at the event.
According to ENZ, in addition to direct exchanges with schools, attendees will also have the opportunity to listen to the government representatives in charge of student visas and scholarships, successful alumni and parents whose children are studying in New Zealand. In addition, 30 New Zealand schools will participate for the first time in a uniform performance by students themselves to spread the New Zealand educational identity.
In addition, ENZ also organized a seminar on international English certificates, where experts will share more in-depth about the four most popular tests today: IELTS, DET, TOEFL iBT and PTE Academic, in addition to another seminar with representatives from Immigration New Zealand (INZ).
The program is free of charge. In Ho Chi Minh City: 8:00-13:00 on October 11 at Sheraton Hotel (80 Dong Du, Saigon Ward). In Hanoi: 8:00-13:00 on October 12 at Melia Hanoi Hotel (44B Ly Thuong Kiet, Cua Nam Ward).
"The New Zealand Education Fair is a testament to our long-term commitment to supporting Vietnamese learners to access authentic information, explore diverse study opportunities in New Zealand as well as build a career development roadmap. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, this fair is even more meaningful," said Ms. Caroline Beresford, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam.
According to statistics from ENZ, 69,133 international students will enroll in education providers in New Zealand in 2023, an increase of 67% compared to 2022, and will be concentrated mainly in universities. Of these, 1,736 will be from Vietnam, an increase of 10% compared to the previous year but still about half the record (3,042 in 2019), with the largest concentration in universities (1,120) followed by secondary schools (308).
