Rice prices continue to fall

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, currently raw rice 5451 decreased by 150 VND, fluctuating at 8,500-8,600 VND; raw rice OM 380 decreased by 100 VND, fluctuating at 7,450-7,600 VND/kg; finished rice OM 380 fluctuated at 8,800-9,000 VND/kg; raw rice IR 504 fluctuated at 7,700-7,800 VND/kg; finished rice IR 504 fluctuated at 9,500-9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the prices of by-products fluctuate from 5,450 - 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, the price of broken rice fluctuates at 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg; broken rice 3-4 increased by 100 VND, fluctuating at 6,100 - 6,200; the price of dry bran increased by 50 VND, fluctuating at 5,550 - 5,700 VND/kg compared to the beginning of the week.

Recorded in localities today, the amount of rice arriving is still slow, buying and selling transactions are still slow. In Lap Vo - Vam Cong (Dong Thap), the supply is small, mainly from Cambodia, the price continues to decrease slightly, only IR 50404 and fragrant rice are still holding their prices. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the supply is small, fragrant rice from Kien Giang , Can Tho, Hau Giang has a relatively better quantity than yesterday, the price of rice fluctuates slightly.

In An Giang, warehouses are buying weakly, transactions are slow, waiting for prices to drop further before buying. In Sa Dec market (Dong Thap), transactions are slow, warehouses are buying rice, raw rice prices are down compared to yesterday. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang ), sources are coming in slowly, warehouses are choosing good rice to buy, rice prices are down depending on rice quality, the buying and selling market is weak.

At retail markets, the price of rice of all kinds is relatively stable compared to the beginning of the week, except for regular rice which increased by 1,000 VND, fluctuating at 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 28,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice at 17,000 VND/kg; Soc regular rice fluctuates at 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

In many localities today, the quantity is quite good, but the buying and selling transactions are slow. In Ca Mau, farmers are offering high prices for rice, there are few new buyers, and there are almost no transactions. In Hau Giang, traders have stopped buying a lot, mainly asking to reduce the amount of rice they have deposited.

In Can Tho, rice trading continues to stagnate, with few buyers, and some traders offering low prices. In An Giang, prices have slightly decreased in some districts, many farmers have kept prices high for good quality rice, and trading has been slow. In Kien Giang, rice trading has been very slow, and the price of fragrant rice has decreased.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices today decreased slightly compared to the beginning of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 394 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 369 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 310 USD/ton.
