(Baohatinh.vn) - Storm No. 5 has severely damaged many fishing boats of Ha Tinh province. Fishermen are urgently repairing them to be able to set sail when the weather is favorable.

After storm No. 5, Mr. Pham Van Dong's boat (Giang Ha village, Loc Ha commune) suffered damage to its hull and engine. Immediately after the storm, with the support of his fellow boatmen, Mr. Dong quickly checked and repaired the engine, replaced damaged parts and reinforced the hull and hull of the boat. Mr. Dong said that although the repair work took a lot of time and money, he was determined to complete it soon so that he could set sail as soon as the weather was favorable, continue to stick to the sea and stabilize his life.

After the storm, Mr. Nguyen Van Hong's boat (Tan Hai village, Thien Cam commune) was blown away by the waves and wind, many parts were severely damaged. The boat's hull was cracked, the shell was peeled off, and some planks and frames were dislodged. Repairing the boat requires a lot of time and effort. Currently, Mr. Hong is reinforcing the frame, replacing planks, and patching cracks in the hull to get the boat back in operation soon. Mr. Hong said: "My boat was severely damaged, so the repair had to be done step by step, from reinforcing the frame to reassembling the mechanical parts. Thanks to the help of the people and fellow boatmen, the repair work was less difficult and faster."

Storm No. 5 made landfall, causing nearly 100 fishing boats of Ha Tinh fishermen to be severely damaged; Thien Cam commune alone had the largest number of damaged boats, nearly 40. In this situation, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province directed functional branches and local authorities to urgently mobilize forces and means to support fishermen. Coastal localities sent officials directly to the scene to inspect and count the extent of damage, and at the same time instructed fishermen on safe recovery measures. Authorities of coastal communes and wards also coordinated with the Border Guard, Police, and militia to help people clean up the scene, move heavily damaged boats to safe areas, and focus on repairing and reinforcing to soon put the boats back into operation.

In order to quickly fix damaged boats, Mr. Truong Quang Chung - Owner of Cam Nhuong boat repair facility (Thien Cam commune) said: "Heavily damaged boats will be repaired later by the facility, priority will be given to lightly damaged boats, workers and equipment will be mobilized to repair them as quickly as possible for the people".

Regarding the work of repairing damaged boats after the storm, Mr. Pham Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of Thien Cam Commune People's Committee said: "The locality is mobilizing maximum local forces, and at the same time directing households to proactively repair the damage. All boat repair facilities and workshops are required to operate at full capacity to soon complete the repair of boats for fishermen."

After the storm, despite suffering heavy losses, with the determination to quickly stabilize production, fishermen have devoted all their efforts to repairing boats and replacing fishing gear. At the anchorage areas, the urgent atmosphere is evident on every face, every pair of hands working day and night to reinforce the hull and reinstall machinery. Everyone shares the desire to quickly fix the damage and get their vehicles back in operation soon.
