Paraglider dies after flying accident

A paraglider participating in a paragliding competition suddenly fell from the sky and suffered serious injuries. Despite intensive first aid, the victim died.

On March 24, a source from SGGP Newspaper confirmed that an athlete participating in the paragliding competition "Discovering the Great Forest - Sa Thay 2024" ( Kon Tum province) had a flying accident and died.

Initial information, the deceased is athlete NTA (39 years old, Hanoi ). The cause is under investigation.

According to a clip recorded by local people, during the landing process, about 20 meters above the ground, the athlete's paraglider deviated and suddenly fell to the ground. Immediately after, rescue forces were present to take the victim to the emergency room.

According to Doctor Vo Van Thien, Director of Kon Tum Provincial General Hospital, at around 10:00 a.m. on March 23, the athlete was admitted to the hospital in a deep coma, suffering from multiple traumatic brain injuries, chest trauma, pelvic fractures, etc., and died after about 3 hours of emergency treatment.

The Paragliding Competition to Explore the Great Forest - Sa Thay 2024 is organized by the People's Committee of Sa Thay district in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum province, gathering 127 domestic and foreign athletes... The competition is held in 3 days, March 22-24, 2024.
