Pig price today in the North increased by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg

The live pig market in the North today increased by the highest 2,000 VND/kg.

Of which, the highest live pig price in the region was recorded in Thai Nguyen and Yen Bai provinces at 62,000 VND/kg, up 1,000 VND/kg and 2,000 VND/kg respectively.

Yen Bai province increased by 2,000 VND/kg to 61,000 VND/kg.

Except for Phu Tho and Ha Nam , which did not maintain the old price, the remaining provinces and cities increased by VND1,000/kg to about VND60,000 - VND61,000/kg, depending on the region.

Pig price today in the North is around 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the Central and Central Highlands increased by 1,000 VND/kg

According to records, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions increased slightly in many places today.

Specifically, the price of live pigs in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Dak Lak after increasing by 1,000 VND/kg is 60,000 VND/kg.

With the same increase, Lam Dong and Binh Thuan provinces adjusted transactions to the highest level in the region at 61,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, the provinces of Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan also increased slightly by VND1,000/kg to VND59,000/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 59,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the South today increased slightly
In the Southern region, the price of live pigs increased by 1,000 VND/kg in some places.

Specifically, the price of live pigs in Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Dong Thap was raised to 61,000 VND/kg.

Traders in Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Ca Mau and Soc Trang are buying live pigs at 60,000 VND/kg after an increase.

Pig price in the Southern region today fluctuates between 59,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.

In general, the price of live pigs today increased by the highest 2,000 VND/kg. Currently, the surveyed price in the provinces fluctuates between 59,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.

According to many experts, the supply of live pigs is stable because the African swine fever (ASF) epidemic previously prevented farmers from boosting herd rebuilding, according to the February 2024 Live Pig Market Report.

In addition, recently, the authorities have controlled the border lines well to prevent pigs from being smuggled into Vietnam. If this continues to be maintained well, the domestic livestock industry can flourish in the near future.
