iPhone 15 price drops to lowest level since its launch in Vietnam

(Dan Tri) - Although nearly 2 years old, iPhone 15 still receives a lot of attention from users in the Vietnamese market.

After many price adjustments, iPhone 15 is being sold by some authorized Apple dealers at VND 14.99 million, VND 500,000 lower than at the end of the second quarter.

This is also the lowest price of iPhone 15 since its launch in the Vietnamese market.

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, media representative of CellphoneS system, said that after the price adjustment in the second quarter, iPhone 15 sales increased nearly 2 times compared to the first quarter.

The iPhone 15 was introduced by Apple in September 2023. Although it is nearly 2 years old, this product line still receives a lot of attention from users in the Vietnamese market. Even in the same standard iPhone product range, the sales of the iPhone 15 are superior to those of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 16.

"iPhone 15 accounts for about 18% of sales in the entire iPhone industry in the system. Compared to iPhone 14 in the same period last year or iPhone 16 at this time, iPhone 15 still maintains a stable proportion, even recording a slight increase," said Ms. Van Thi Ngoc Yen, Apple Industry Director at Di Dong Viet.

In the second quarter, Apple stopped selling some old product lines in the Vietnamese market, including iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 14 Plus. This also contributed significantly to the sales growth of iPhone 15.

"Apple's discontinuation of older iPhone models and price adjustment of the iPhone 15 have boosted user demand for this device. The iPhone 15 is chosen more thanks to the balance between price, performance and software support time," said a representative of Minh Tuan Mobile.

In the same segment, the iPhone 15 is currently competing with its own "homegrown" model, the iPhone 16e. The iPhone 15 stands out thanks to its youthful, colorful design, Dynamic Island screen, and dual camera cluster.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16e has a powerful A18 chip, supports the Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence toolkit and has better battery life. Although it is an old product, the iPhone 15 is more popular with Vietnamese users than Apple's newly launched model.

According to a report from market research firm Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 15 is the leading device in the list of best-selling smartphones in the world in 2024. Nearly half of the sales of this model come from the US and Chinese markets.
