Ahead of the "Awe Dropping" event scheduled to take place on September 9 to introduce the iPhone 17, the selling price of the iPhone 16 series in Vietnam is undergoing notable changes. According to records from many major retail systems, the selling price of the entire iPhone 16 product line has dropped to the lowest level since its launch, but there are also individual cases.
iPhone 16 price "fluctuates in reverse"
Many current users are waiting for new products, causing the purchasing power of older iPhones to decline. However, this only has a strong impact on the iPhone 16 series, while older models such as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 still maintain stable growth.
Recently, a number of Apple Authorized Retailers (AARs) have simultaneously adjusted the price of the iPhone 16 series. Surveyed on September 8, the iPhone 16e tends to increase by 800,000 to 1 million VND compared to last month.
iPhone 16e 128GB: Starting from 15.99 million VND at Mobile World (TGDĐ) andFPT Shop.
iPhone 16e 256GB: Price 19.19 million VND at TGDĐ.
iPhone 16e 512GB: The difference is only 100,000 VND, with prices of 25.09 million VND and 24.99 million VND.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro has not fluctuated much in price, with a starting price of 25 million VND. The most expensive model is still the iPhone 16 Pro Max 1TB with 42.69 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Giau, representative of Mobile America, predicts that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is still the most popular version among Vietnamese users and will likely continue on the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Strategy to "kill" familiar products
Along with the launch of new products, Apple will implement a familiar business strategy of discontinuing some older devices. Experts say that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will likely be on this list.
According to a representative of CellphoneS, sales of the iPhone 16 series have recently decreased slightly, about 3%, compared to the same period last year at 12%. The current price of older iPhone models is considered attractive to customers.
Meanwhile, a representative of Mobile World said that sales of the iPhone 16 series still maintained a slight increase. Notably, models under 20 million VND are becoming the driving force to maintain sales at this time.
