On the morning of October 10, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health held a ceremony to send off a team of doctors and nurses on their mission to provide medical support to Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang provinces to overcome the consequences of storm No. 11.

The working delegation of Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health includes 62 medical staff and doctors mobilized from the Center for Disease Control and medical centers in the province.
The delegation divided into 2 teams (31 members each) bringing medicine, medical supplies... directly to support the provinces for 7 days (from October 11 to 17).
The working group of the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health will coordinate with the local health sector to carry out environmental sanitation activities, disinfect water sources, prevent epidemics, dispense medicine and communicate health education .

People's Physician Pham Thi Thanh Huong - General Director of Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical - Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company (Bidiphar), presented support.
Based on actual needs and after agreeing with the health sector of Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang provinces, this time, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health will support 600kg of Chloramin B powder (300kg for each province), along with 4,000 medicine bags for households (2,000 bags for each province) sponsored by the enterprise.
Attending and seeing off the delegation, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan commended 62 doctors and medical staff who volunteered to go on difficult missions, demonstrating their pioneering spirit, readiness to share the burden, and join hands for community health.
“Each member of the delegation should become an ambassador of kindness, carrying the spirit of dedication and devotion of Gia Lai medical staff. Wherever they are, they should show the image of people who do not fear difficulties and hardships, and are willing to sacrifice for the health and happiness of the people. Thereby spreading the good and humane values of Gia Lai homeland,” Mr. Pham Anh Tuan hoped.

On behalf of the working delegation, Dr. Tran Ky Hau - Director of Quy Nhon Medical Center, shared that in recent days, images of houses submerged in water, roads cut off and especially the great loss of life caused by storm No. 11, have urged the conscience and responsibility of medical professionals.
“We are deeply aware that ahead are the flood-hit areas, where living conditions are lacking and the risk of disease outbreaks after floods is very high. But with the spirit of mutual love, 'fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy', and treating doctors like mothers, we promise to return with a mission that is fully completed, worthy of the trust and expectations that the province and the industry have entrusted us with,” Dr. Tran Ky Hau emphasized.
It is known that in addition to sending medical teams to provide relief, Gia Lai province also supported the four provinces most severely damaged by storm No. 11, including: Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Cao Bang and Bac Ninh, each province with 1 billion VND.

Previously, Gia Lai province also provided 6 billion VND to share the difficulties with people in the area affected by storm No. 10 (storm Bualoi). This fund was allocated as follows: Quang Tri 1 billion VND, Ha Tinh 2 billion VND, Nghe An 1 billion VND, Thanh Hoa 1 billion VND and Son La 1 billion VND.
In addition, at the 1st Congress of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, delegates also donated nearly 180 million VND to support people in the provinces affected by storm Bualoi. In addition, there are other sources of support through the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
