Gia Lai: Temporarily suspending Party activities for 5 detained Party members

On September 15, informing the press, Mr. Cao Thanh Thuong, Party Secretary and Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province, said that the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee had agreed to temporarily suspend Party activities for 5 cadres and party members who are being detained by the Investigation Police Agency (IPA) of the Ministry of Public Security to serve the investigation.

According to Mr. Cao Thanh Thuong, the unit is seeking opinions from relevant agencies to implement Party regulations on handling these Party members. Among them, there is a Party member under the management of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee, Mr. Le Duc Sau (Head of the Gia Lai Provincial Forest Protection Department), the remaining cases are under the Party Committee of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment.

"Currently, we are waiting for the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency to announce and officially announce the decision to prosecute and continue to handle, expel from the Party and force the violating Party members to quit their jobs," Mr. Thuong added.

As reported by SGGP Newspaper, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency has just sent a document to the Party Committee of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province requesting to handle Party members who violate the law.

Accordingly, the Investigation Police Agency is handling the case of "Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste; Illegal storage of military weapons; Receiving and giving bribes" occurring at Vinh Thanh Protective Forest Management Board, Vinh Thanh Production and Trade Joint Stock Company and related units.

On August 17, 2025, the Investigation Police Department prosecuted and detained five forest rangers and forest managers, including: Le Duc Sau (Head of the Provincial Forest Protection Department), Tran Phuoc Phi (Director of Vinh Thanh Forest Management Board), Dang Ba Quang (Head of Vinh Thanh Forest Protection Department), Dinh Giang Binh (Head of Vinh Thanh Forest Protection Station) and Phan Thanh Kha (Forest Ranger).

In which, Mr. Phi, Quang, Binh and Kha were prosecuted for the crimes of "Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste" and "Receiving bribes"; Mr. Le Duc Sau was prosecuted for the crime of "Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste".
