On the morning of October 14, oil prices increased again, Brent oil increased by 0.59 USD, equivalent to 0.9%, to 63.32 USD/barrel; WTI oil also increased by 0.59 USD, equivalent to 1%, to 59.49 USD/barrel.
Last week, both benchmarks fell about 4%.
According to Reuters, world oil prices regained green in the first trading session of the week after US President Donald Trump confirmed that he will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping at the end of October. This is a move that could help ease trade tensions between the world's two largest economies . Updated information shows that the two sides have "significantly reduced" tensions after many exchanges over the weekend.
Thus, the market sell-off has been contained, however, analysts assess that the short-term outlook still depends on the final outcome of the trade negotiations.

Meanwhile, China's crude oil imports in September rose 3.9% year-on-year to 11.5 million barrels per day, customs data showed.

Specifically, OPEC said the oil market may only be in a slight deficit in 2026 as the OPEC+ group continues to increase production.

Domestic gasoline prices today were reduced following the price adjustment last Thursday afternoon (October 9) by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance. Specifically, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND486/liter, RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND480/liter, diesel oil decreased by VND434/liter, kerosene decreased by VND571/liter and mazut oil decreased by VND562/kg./.
