New life from reality TV

Many viewers watch reality shows for entertainment and “ travel ” online.

Many young people said that they often watch the program with their families to have a more intimate and close atmosphere between generations.

“Every weekend, I usually spend time watching reality TV shows with my family. The way the artists interact with each other is both natural and funny, helping my whole family have relaxing moments. Through that, my parents also get to know many young artists today,” said Ms. Nguyen Thao Vy (living in Binh Duc commune).

Not only entertaining, many programs also bring educational and inspirational values. In Brave Soldier, the audience witnessed the players trying to train and overcome challenges, or in Rookie, each "rookie" had to strive to assert themselves and find opportunities to shine. Programs such as First Life, Brilliant Journey, Family Haha, 2 Days 1 Night,... also take the audience on a journey to new lands, admiring the beautiful scenery of their homeland. Highland markets, coconut-lined village roads or rustic dishes introduced on television not only arouse curiosity but also create a sense of closeness and familiarity. It is the combination of vivid images and stories of culture and typical cuisine in each locality that attracts a large audience who have not had the opportunity to experience it, and at the same time arouses the desire to visit the place once.

Although it brings a lot of joy, reality TV also has its limitations. Many viewers admit that they spend a lot of time watching it, which can easily affect their daily life and work. In addition, some programs sometimes get into controversy because of shocking situations, inappropriate performances or suspicions of staging. These factors both create attraction and raise questions about the balance between entertainment and real value.
