Gasoline price today September 26: Turning down

Oil prices fell from a seven-week high today on concerns about oversupply and weakening demand.

World crude oil loses momentum

According to Oilprice at 4:30 a.m. on September 26 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price reached 69.24 USD/barrel, down 0.19% (equivalent to 0.13 USD). WTI oil also decreased 0.29% to 64.81 USD/barrel.

Oil prices retreated from a seven-week high as investors took profits, US stocks weakened and demand was expected to ease towards the end of the peak season, Reuters reported.

In addition, oil flows from Kurdistan (Iraq) are about to restart, raising concerns about oversupply returning to the market. Previously, both Brent and WTI rose 2.5% after data showed a surprise drop in US crude inventories.

Domestic gasoline prices today

During the operating period from 3:00 p.m. on September 25, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance announced new retail prices for petroleum products.

Accordingly, E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 368 VND/liter, down to 19,618 VND/liter. RON95-III gasoline also decreased by 443 VND/liter, down to 20,165 VND/liter.

For oil, prices fluctuated in opposite directions: diesel 0.05S decreased by 47 VND/liter to 18,658 VND/liter, while kerosene increased by 84 VND/liter to 18,628 VND/liter. Mazut 180CST 3.5S also recorded an increase of 79 VND/kg to 15,209 VND/kg.

During this operating period, the Joint Ministry did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for all products, in order to keep domestic prices closely following fluctuations in the world market.
