BTO-On the morning of May 19, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance (CPA) held a conference on Solutions to improve the operational efficiency of cooperatives in the new period. Attending the conference were Mr. Huynh Lam Phuong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance - Head of the Southern Standing Office; leaders of the CPA of the Central and Central Highlands provinces, representatives of relevant departments and branches and nearly 100 members of cooperatives and credit funds in the province.
Currently, there are 208 cooperatives in Binh Thuan province. Although the number of cooperatives has increased, the average number of members in the cooperative tends to decrease, the internal capacity of the cooperative is still weak, the operational efficiency is not high, and the level of cooperative management staff is limited.
Most cooperatives are small in scale, have little capital, low competitiveness, and low benefits for members; the connection within cooperatives is still very weak. In addition, joint ventures and linkages between cooperatives and between cooperatives and other economic organizations are not popular. The application of science and technology in production and business is still limited, not fully exploiting the potential strengths of the province...
Therefore, through the conference, delegates listened to presentations from cooperatives in provinces and cities, shared practical experiences in production and business activities, and supported cooperatives in accessing digital technology. Especially solutions for applying science and technology in production; solutions to support cooperatives in participating in trade promotion activities as well as methods for organizing online agricultural markets for cooperatives.
Through that, cooperatives in the province will learn from experience, innovate, be more creative and improve operational efficiency in the current period, have enough capacity to compete with other economic sectors, and bring practical efficiency to members.
