Reduced benchmark scores, additional recruitment into grade 6 at 'hot' school in Thu Duc City

Based on the actual enrollment situation, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City recruits additional 6th grade students of Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School with students who achieve an aptitude test score of 57 points or higher.

Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School accepts additional admission applications from 8:00 a.m. on July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 19.

The application includes: Birth certificate (copy); Student identification code notification (Form 1 Circular 59/2021/TT BCA) or document showing information about place of residence (Form CT01, CT-07, CT-08).

Previously, on June 15, 1,025 students participated in the 6th grade entrance exam at Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School. The school's enrollment target is 315 students, which means the competition ratio is about 1/3.3. On June 27, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City announced that the admission score for 6th grade at Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School is 59.25 points.

It is known that in Thu Duc City, after the first 2023-2024 school year, the enrollment of 6th grade students was conducted through a capacity assessment survey to enter the advanced, high-quality school Tran Quoc Toan 1, then in the 2024-2025 school year, Thu Duc City expanded this form of enrollment to Hoa Lu Secondary School, Binh Tho.

The capacity assessment test for admission to Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, Hoa Lu, Binh Tho (Thu Duc City) has a similar structure to the previous capacity assessment test for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School, but the requirements are lighter.

The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City said that among the 3 secondary schools that organized the survey, only Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School recruited additional 6th grade students because some students passed the exam and chose to study 6th grade at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School. Therefore, the admissions council decided to recruit additional students to create opportunities for students as well as secondary schools to ensure that they can enroll enough 6th grade students for the 2024-2025 school year.
