"Keep the fire" of the movement

Despite some initial difficulties due to the arrangement of administrative units and streamlining of the apparatus, local youth continue to "keep the fire" of the volunteer movement. From the beginning of July 2025 to now, many models have participated in supporting the operation of two-level local governments; propaganda work, education on historical traditions and the shock and volunteer movement are still taking place vigorously, creating a spreading effect in society.

Ninh Kieu Ward Youth organized fun and gave gifts to students of Can Tho City School for Disabled Children on the occasion of the recent Mid-Autumn Festival.

According to Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Secretary of the Ninh Kieu Ward Youth Union, the ward Youth Union was established on the basis of merging the Youth Unions of Tan An (old), Thoi Binh and Xuan Khanh wards, with 76 affiliated youth unions (including 38 regional youth unions), with a total of more than 2,000 members. Having held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ninh Kieu District Youth Union (old), Mr. Hieu said that when the district level was abolished, the ward Youth Union was the unit directly implementing youth union work and youth movements under the direction of the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union. The ward's youth quickly "caught up" with many models and activities associated with local political tasks.

Specifically, after only 1 week of operating the 2-level local government model, the Ward Youth Union coordinated with the Youth Union of the School of Information Technology and Communications, Can Tho University, to establish a "Digital Popular Education" team, with 20 members each day supporting people to use online public services at the Ward Public Administration Service Center. "The coordination between the grassroots youth union in residential areas and schools not only supplements the local force but also creates an environment for students to practice, contribute, and contribute to maintaining and developing movement activities" - Mr. Hieu shared.

Ninh Kieu Ward Youth Union has carried out many projects and tasks to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels, National Day September 2... Typical examples include launching the "National Flag Road" project on Hai Ba Trung Street, organizing a discussion on "The historical mission of youth in the new period", along with many activities to protect the environment and care for children in difficult circumstances. On the occasion of the recent Mid-Autumn Festival, young people were the vanguard force, supporting departments, branches and organizations to organize many fun activities, visit and give gifts to children in difficult circumstances. Mr. Hieu said: "Ninh Kieu is a central ward of the city, most young people are working or still studying. Therefore, we determined to promote the application of digital technology , innovate the volunteer movement in a direction suitable to the strengths of union members' professions to approach and expand the gathering of union members and young people."

The Youth Unions have also quickly completed their organizational structure and held congresses to set out directions and tasks for the 2025-2030 term. Dai Thanh Ward Youth Union is the first of the four units selected by the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union to hold a city-level congress. Dai Thanh Ward Youth Union was established on the basis of merging three Youth Union organizations: Hiep Loi Ward, Dai Thanh Commune and Tan Thanh Commune, with 394 members. According to Mr. Vo Ngoc Tiep, Secretary of the Ward Youth Union, the ward's youth continue to maintain effective models from the three previous merged units, proposing many breakthroughs in the volunteer movement. In particular, focusing on innovating the Youth Union's operating methods, applying information technology, using digital platforms to connect and interact with union members and young people. According to Ms. Lu Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Secretary of the Can Tho City Youth Union, the arrangement of administrative units at the provincial and communal levels and the streamlining of the apparatus have somewhat affected the activities of the Youth Union. However, the Youth Union chapters at all levels have flexibly adapted to the new model, operating effectively, without affecting political tasks. Young people continue to "keep the fire" of the volunteer movement, linking Youth Union activities with the practical needs of the locality and have had truly practical projects and tasks for the community right from the first days of operating the 2-level local government model.

“If we know how to turn challenges into opportunities, boldly innovate, create, apply technology and promote youth, the Youth Union will increasingly affirm its pioneering and pioneering role, successfully completing its political mission in the new period” - Ms. Ngoc Anh emphasized.
