According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, after the merger, Lam Dong will have more space and opportunities to develop the aquaculture industry according to the province's natural conditions. However, this industry still faces many challenges from internal limitations.
In the context of increasingly strict requirements for sustainable and responsible fisheries development following international trends, it is necessary to develop a plan to restructure the Lam Dong fisheries sector for the period 2026 - 2030, with a vision to 2035, to concretize the Party's policies, strategies and plans of the Government ; exploit potential, increase added value, make important contributions to agriculture, meet the requirements of sustainable development and international integration.

According to the plan, from October 5 to December 5, 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will organize the following steps: internal meetings to give comments on the detailed outline, field surveys, data collection, evaluation of the results of restructuring the fisheries sector in the past time and drafting a plan. At the same time, the Department will organize an extended workshop, collect opinions from departments, branches, localities and synthesize, absorb, and explain to complete the plan.

Professional units commented that the plan to restructure the fisheries sector is a big task, of great significance in the development orientation of fisheries in Lam Dong. Especially in the context of merging administrative units, the practical situation has many fluctuations, especially the removal of the EC's yellow card warning.

On this occasion, the Departments of Fisheries and Seas; Quality, Processing and Market Development; Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine signed a regulation on coordination in implementing tasks of preventing and controlling aquatic animal diseases in Lam Dong province.
