Hanoi creates a sustainable tourism product ecosystem

The seminar "Strengthening development linkages - diversifying tourism products in Hanoi by 2025" organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism in coordination with the localities of Phuc Tho, Dai Thanh, Ngoc Hoi, Hong Van, Chuyen My, and O Dien has opened up a space for substantive dialogue, linked to the need to restructure the capital's tourism.

From traditional values to new creative motivation

In the picture of strong transformation of Vietnamese tourism towards green, creative and sustainable direction, Hanoi is affirming its position as a spreading center, the starting point of systematic tourism product development linkage models.

The message “Convergence of Quintessence” expresses the spirit of inheriting Hanoi ’s thousand-year-old cultural and historical heritage and reflects the aspiration to spread and connect those values to every suburban area.

Spaces such as Phuc Tho with ornamental plants and flowers, Hong Van with ecological agriculture , Chuyen My famous for mother-of-pearl inlay, or Ngoc Hoi - Dai Thanh with traditional crafts and riverside landscapes... are contributing to enriching the portrait of Hanoi tourism in the direction of experience and localization.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu emphasized: "The "government - business - community" cooperation model will be the core link, helping to form a continuous product chain from urban centers to suburban rural areas, creating a unified but multi-faceted tourism flow."

Hanoi possesses rare advantages with its thousand-year heritage, inter-regional transport infrastructure system and the ability to lead the northern tourism market.

Therefore, the connection needs to be expanded to Son Tay - Ba Vi of Hanoi or Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh... to form "satellite tourism areas" where tourists can fully experience from the old town to the ancient village, from ecological agriculture to Buddhist heritage, from traditional festivals to night tourism space.

Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu assessed this as the right step, demonstrating the vision of reshaping Hanoi's tourism products, aiming to build a brand worthy of the title "Asia's leading city tourism destination".

Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Tho Commune Kieu Trong Sy shared his desire to develop eco-tourism, spiritual tourism, and agricultural experience products based on village landscapes, traditional crafts, and ancient relics.

Tourism has gone beyond the concept of a mere service, becoming a livelihood and a way for people to preserve and tell the cultural story of their homeland.

In other communes such as Dai Thanh, Ngoc Hoi, Hong Van, Chuyen My, and O Dien, community tourism models, craft villages, and rural experiences are also being shaped in the direction of focusing on improving the quality of human resources, digital transformation, and connecting service supply chains.

Commitment to action

The highlight of the seminar was the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the communes and the Hanoi Tourism Association and the Vietnam Green Tourism Association.

This event demonstrates the commitment to action between the government, businesses and the community, thereby opening up practical projects: craft village tourism, ecology, experience; digital data maps; inter-regional connecting tourism routes.

In the evening of the same day, the ceremony to announce new tourism products of Hanoi 2025 took place in a solemn atmosphere. This is considered a strong statement about the innovation journey of tourism in the capital, where heritage, nature and people blend to create a unique identity.

Aiming to welcome over 33.7 million visitors in 2025, Hanoi is creating a sustainable tourism ecosystem with four core values: Safety - friendliness - quality - attractiveness.

Regional connectivity, product diversification and promotion of local culture are the “soft keys” that help Hanoi maintain its position as the tourism heart of the country, while spreading inspiration to neighboring localities.

Hanoi tourism is increasingly becoming an attractive destination and suggesting journeys connecting cultural memories with contemporary creativity and aspirations for sustainable development.
