Kinh Bac Ward: Mobilizing human resources to prevent dike overflow, evacuating people's property to safety

BAC NINH - Due to the influence of the weakened low pressure circulation from storm No. 11, the flood on Cau River rose, the dike in Dau Han quarter, Kinh Bac ward (Bac Ninh) was at risk of overflowing. The locality mobilized human resources to prevent the dike from overflowing and evacuate people's property to safety.

Faced with the flood and weather situation, the Kinh Bac Ward Civil Defense Command mobilized the police force, militia and local people, along with the support force of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department, and Rescue Department (Provincial Police) to use sandbags to reinforce and raise the dike surface.

From 7:00 p.m. on October 7 to 7:00 a.m. on October 8, the entire ward mobilized 620 people, including 100 officers and soldiers of the ward police, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Provincial Police), 120 militiamen and 400 local people to build more than 8,000 sandbags to reinforce the dike with a length of nearly 1 km, 0.5-0.7 m high to prevent water from overflowing the dike.

Along with reinforcing the dike, on the night of October 7, the Kinh Bac Ward Civil Defense Command deployed forces to support people in moving food and valuable assets to safety.

Dau Han Quarter, Kinh Bac Ward has about 400 households and nearly 2,000 people. The Dau Han dike is about 4 km long.
