Reporter: As one of the leading singers of Vietnamese music, does this title put pressure on you in your career journey?
- Singer HA TRAN: I don't feel any pressure. This title is public recognition. I never confine myself to any title. Currently, I still do things that I find meaningful, bringing joy to myself and the fan community. Still singing and living true to my nature and personality.
If you accidentally heard someone say "Ha Tran's time is over", how would you feel?
- Even with such an interview question, I find it normal. An artist's time is the time of the values they create. It is not before or after, nor does it depend on the frequency of appearance or numbers. The public often ranks contemporary artists based on parameters. But an artist is not a commercial product, and audience preferences change with each generation. Contemporary artists are those who have the ability to lead the public, not just create products that suit the "taste" of the public.

.The geographical distance clearly affects your reputation and position in the Vietnamese music market. Have you ever felt regretful for going far away?
- I have never regretted my decisions, whether to go far or to return. Because I understand how those choices affect my personal life. What I receive, what I achieve, and what I continue to give are all my own sacred journey. What outsiders look at or judge is just a reflection of their own thoughts.
.Ha Tran's musical color is so unique that it is only for audiences who are in tune with her. However, at times, Ha Tran's brand was shaken when audiences discovered that she also sings bolero. What was the reason for that choice, ma'am?
- A walk, with dishes (supposedly) representative of Vietnamese taste. I sing 1-2 bolero songs, just like I sing a few songs like chau van, a dao or nhac do.
.The audience loves you for your mysterious appearance and voice. However, there are also opinions that you are "so cunning that you turn your weaknesses into advantages". Which opinion do you think is more true for you?
- None of that is true. I'm still growing, every day you see a "Ha type" then just take it as normal.
When you are far away, do you follow the development of Vietnamese music? And which singers do you appreciate?
- I spend a lot of time observing indie artists (independent artists who compose, produce and release their own music). I find myself relating and connecting with them more than mainstream artists. I like Marzuz (of course) but not because he is my nephew, but because Marzuz has a rich musical language and style. In addition, I like Chillies, Den Vau, Hoang Thuy Linh, Tung, Thinh Suy, SuBoi, Minh Dinh, Hacrayon, ChiCha22 and especially still like Thang. I like Thang in the band "Ngot" and outside the band. It doesn't matter the genre of music or popularity, I just like artists who have a mindset and know how to create their own style.
Many young audiences may not know you for many reasons. Does this affect your feelings?
- It's normal. You can't know everyone or everything. On the contrary, you should only seek out those who resonate with your soul.
.Are audiences still waiting for your new music products or live shows?
- I am the artist who releases the most products and most regularly among the artists of my age. Since last year, I have released a vinyl, an album, a few singles, and every month or two, I organize mini live shows in many places.
Vietnamese music is currently strongly dominated by game shows. Having been very successful in the game show "Masked Singer", will you continue this race?
- After "Masked Singer", I ran around nonstop. For me, it was a big success (commercially). But, all our decisions need to be at the right time. When I joined "Masked Singer", I thought it was the right time. But right now, I don't see any other game show that suits me, so I stopped. Moreover, as I said, I like the leisurely life of the present.
How is your life now?
- My private life has always been discreet and gentle. That keeps me balanced as an artist.
Women often change when they reach middle age. Do you feel any changes in yourself?
- I really like the way I "slow down the pace of life to listen" in the past 5 years, during and after the pandemic. This is a pivotal period for me with many lessons that are not dependent on the changes of the outside world . Currently, I live more for myself and this is wonderful. The most wonderful thing is that you allow yourself, not depending on anyone to allow you to live how.
How do you define your concept of a happy and fulfilled life?
- As now, and even more so, according to the trend in the coming years, which I have foreseen, is to give, to return what life has given me. Like a tree that is big enough to spread shade.
If you had the ability to turn things around, what would you change? "If this question came to me 5-10 years ago, I probably would have said ABCD. But at this point, I don't influence or try to control anything. I just live true to myself and that will inspire and impact the community of people on the same frequency" - Ha Tran shared.
