Vietnamese rookie group encounters problem when competing against two international groups

(Dan Tri) - Competing with two famous bands from Korea and Japan, the new Vietnamese band encountered technical problems right when preparing to perform, making the atmosphere of the second performance tense.

The appearance of two international groups - "K-pop senior" JUST B and "Japanese phenomenon" KID PHENOMENON - in the second performance of Rookie of the Year attracted the attention of the audience.

Commenting on the two international representatives, SOOBIN said: "Both groups have their own distinct styles. KID PHENOMENON (Japan) has a strong personal touch, while JUST B (Korea) shows team spirit and a very attractive musical color. Each group has its own strengths and will certainly be a big challenge for the Vietnamese rookies."

Faced with the professionalism of the two guest groups, the Rookies could not hide the pressure before the confrontation. However, this competition is expected to help them break their own limits, demonstrate their learning spirit and desire to assert themselves.

"I'm really looking forward to it. This is an opportunity for you to prove your level, it could be a shock to knock you down or it could be something to be proud of," SOOBIN added.

Performance 2 consists of 2 rounds. In round 1, the two international groups perform first, followed by the Vietnamese rookie group. The score of the Rookie group will be compared with the average score of the two guest groups (equivalent to 100% of the challenge).

In round 2, SOOBIN secretly chose one of the two international groups to directly compare scores with the Rookies, deciding success or failure in the second challenge level.

Opening, KID PHENOMENON stirred up the stage with the interactive performance Unstoppable and the Wheelie competition. JUST B followed with 2 songs Medusa and Chest, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The milestone score for the rookie group's round 1 challenge was 511.5 points (equivalent to 100%).

However, right after entering the performance of No Need to Say Much, Cuong Bach and Swan Nguyen encountered technical problems when the microphone and headphones malfunctioned, forcing the organizers to temporarily stop the music.

Swan Nguyen shared: "The music hadn't started yet but Cuong and I were already getting into position. When the music started, we couldn't hear the signal clearly so we didn't dare run out, afraid of being out of sync with each other."

SOOBIN believes this is a lesson in professionalism that rookies need to learn from. "Once the music starts, there's no reason to stop. This is something you need to overcome in your next performances," he said.

Despite a rough start, the Rookies quickly regained their form, delivering an explosive performance, receiving praise from JUST B and KID PHENOMENON for their chemistry and performance spirit. In the end, the group officially passed the first challenge with 96.5%, proving their ever-improving abilities.

However, the pressure is still there in round 2. If they cannot repeat their success, the 3 contestants with the lowest scores will face the risk of being "frozen", temporarily stopping their journey at Rookie of the Year.
