Sharing with VTC News, the family of musician Nguyen Dinh Bang said he passed away at 5am this morning at his home, after suffering a stroke. His passing has left behind endless grief for the music industry and audiences.
Musician Nguyen Dinh Bang was born in 1942 in Dao Ly, Ly Nhan, Ha Nam (now Ninh Binh province). From a young age, he showed musical talent and soon pursued a professional artistic career. Before becoming a musician, he was a musician of the Central Cheo Troupe, performing for soldiers and people on the Truong Son frontline, as well as on many stages at home and abroad.
Musician Nguyen Dinh Bang passed away on the morning of October 19.
After graduating from the Composition Department of Hanoi Conservatory of Music, he worked at the Music and Record Publishing House, taking on the role of music editor until his retirement.
Although he composed quite early, it was not until 1987 that Nguyen Dinh Bang's name became widely known with the song "The Rain You Suddenly" which was loved by a large audience. Since then, he has continuously released many works that have left an impression on listeners such as " The Time of Red Flowers" (poem by Thanh Tung), "Two Half Moons" (adapted from the poem by Hoang Huu), "Spring Comes", "New Age of Love", "Naked Truong Son"... He also released music collections such as Album "The Time of Red Flowers", "Naked Truong Son" and Selected Songs of Nguyen Dinh Bang (Music Publishing House, 1995).
In his composing career, The Time of Red Flowers is one of the most beloved love songs, associated with singers such as People's Artist Thai Bao and People's Artist Duc Long. The passionate musical notes are accompanied by beautiful, figurative lyrics. The chorus "Every season of red flowers comes, flowers fall like rain..." has become an immortal song, recalling beautiful but painful love stories, imbued with humanity and romance.
Musician Nguyen Dinh Bang believes that this song has the sound of folk music, but he has transformed it, developed it into his own, and modernized it. He also believes that his songs all have folk elements and all evoke the past, but not the past that has passed away forever, but the past that remains with today's life for listeners to reflect on.

Nguyen Dinh Bang won many music awards: First Prize and Third Prize of the Vietnam Musicians Association, 1994: Naked Truong Son and Love of the Countryside (poem by Han Mac Tu); Second Prize of the Vietnam Musicians Association, 1995: Cruise on Lam River; Third Prize of the Vietnam Musicians Association for songs and instrumental music, 1996: Sea Star and Symphony Ballade Thi Kinh - Thi Mau.
He was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts, Phase II, 2007, with the following works: Red Flower Time (poem by Thanh Tung), Cruise on Lam River, Naked Truong Son, Sea Star, and Symphony Baleade of Thi Kinh - Thi Mau.
