On the morning of October 19, just one day after its release, singer Phung Khanh Linh's new album Among Ten Thousand People rose to number 1 on iTunes Vietnam. Many songs in the album also entered the top 100 songs in the Vietnamese market on iTunes.
For a singer who always follows her own path like Phung Khanh Linh, this is an initial success showing that the audience accepts her sincere confidences.
Among ten thousand people, Phung Khanh Linh sees herself
In a letter to the audience on October 18, the day of the album's release, Phung Khanh Linh confided: "I once dreamed of becoming a beautiful swan and shining brightly under the stage lights. But that is a curse. The moon will eventually wane, and when dawn gradually appears, I return to my daily life."
As the cheers faded to silence, she thought it was a cruel reality. Love had appeared and embraced her, but it turned out to be another curse.

She confided: "I once wanted to disappear, go far away. But on the silent hearse that day, when I dropped each flower petal to say goodbye to my father to nothingness, I suddenly understood that we are ultimately just lonely satellites drifting in our own orbits in the indefinite space."
She quotes Haruki Murakami from What I Talk About When I Talk About Running : "Pain is, in fact, an inevitable part of life. However, wallowing in pain is a choice."
From then on, Phung Khanh Linh realized that sometimes pain is a result of what she has created. She wrote: "Now that I have stopped begging the crowd to see me, I have learned to listen to myself more directly and honestly."
With the album Among Ten Thousand People , she chose to let go of the chaos, face herself and the dark corners of her soul. She bowed her head in gratitude to music for being the guiding light in the misty night.
Inspired by the classic ballet Swan Lake
Before releasing the album, Phung Khanh Linh released 4 singles: Wish you broke my heart, I hurt, Crying Block, Confiding in a lonely night. She toured across Vietnam with 5 concerts with a live band in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hanoi .

She borrowed the image of Odette to tell her journey. Sitting in the mirror room, she saw countless versions of herself: beautiful, weak, hurt and proud. "That's when I understood that I didn't need to look for light outside, because I was my own light," she shared.
