HAGL "rescues" naturalized striker who always wants to be on the Vietnamese national team

Hoang Vu Samson has just parted ways with Ho Chi Minh City Club after a relatively successful 2023 season on a personal level.

He scored 9 goals and had 5 assists in just 13 appearances and contributed greatly to helping the "Red Battleship" stay in the league.

Despite his good performance, Ho Chi Minh City did not renew his contract after the 2023 season ended.

According to some sources, after leaving the Saigon team, Samson will go to HAGL for a trial.

Hoang Vu Samson is considered one of the best strikers in V-League history with more than 200 goals after 16 seasons in Vietnam's highest league.

He has won the V-League 3 times in Hanoi FC's shirt.

The striker born in 1988 has now become a Vietnamese citizen and has repeatedly expressed his desire to play for the national team.

After the 2023 season, struggling to stay in the league, besides Hoang Vu Samson, Ho Chi Minh City also terminated the contracts of 3 other names: Ho Tuan Tai, Victor Mansaray and Daniel Green.
