Hanoi FC confirmed: “On September 16, 2025, after a period of working and discussing, Hanoi Football Club decided to part ways with coach Makoto Teguramori. Hanoi FC acknowledged and sent sincere thanks to coach Makoto Teguramori for his efforts and dedication during his time with the capital team.
In the next phase, in order to ensure professional stability and good preparation for the upcoming matches, the Board of Directors of Hanoi Club has chosen Mr. Yusuke Adachi to temporarily lead the team. Currently, Mr. Yusuke Adachi is taking on the role of Technical Director at Hanoi Club.
The departure of Makoto Teguramori is the result of a long period of decline since the beginning of the season. Despite careful investment, welcoming a series of expensive players and a quality domestic squad, in the end, Hanoi FC only brought disappointment.
In the first 4 matches of the 2025/26 campaign, Hanoi FC did not win any match. The defeats against Ho Chi Minh City Police, Viettel and Hanoi Police made the team doubt its ability because most of these teams were considered to be on par with Hanoi FC.
In particular, the draw with one of the weakest teams in the tournament, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, also put the capital team under a lot of pressure. Therefore, the plan to part ways with Mr. Makoto Teguramori was proposed. This is a drastic move by Hanoi FC in the context that they want to return quickly to pursue the LPBank V.League 1-2025/26 championship race. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Hanoi FC's establishment, so they certainly want titles to celebrate this memorable milestone.
Thanh’s dismissal continues to show that Hanoi FC has no luck with Japanese coaches. Previously, Mr. Iwamasa Daiki also had to leave after a short period of association.
