Hai Phong explains the wrong 10th grade admission results at Tran Phu specialized school

Previously, in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training conducted the first round of admissions, and male student PHH passed his first choice, Le Quy Don High School, with a score of 26.25.

In the second round of admission, the Department of Education and Training announced the admission scores for 10th grade for specialized classes at Tran Phu High School. Accordingly, the admission score for 10th grade specializing in Russian is 34.95 points, along with a list of 35 admitted students, including a male student PHH who scored 34.95 points, ranked 35th.

On July 11, the Department received a citizen's request to re-examine the admission results of the 10th grade Russian language class of female student PNHT.

According to the test results, this female student had a score of 35.5 points for admission to the 10th grade specializing in Russian (Math: 7.25; Literature: 6.75; English: 9.5 and English specialized: 6.0), enough points but her name was not on the list of admitted students to the 10th grade specializing in Russian for the second time.

According to the Department of Education and Training, immediately after receiving the feedback, the unit discussed with the enrollment software provider to check and review the second enrollment results.

The results showed that the second benchmark score for the 10th grade of Russian language major was 35.05 points. Therefore, the female student PNHT was admitted, while the male student PHH did not have enough points to be admitted to the 10th grade of Russian language major but was qualified to be admitted to the 10th grade of Le Quy Don High School.

Information from the software provider explains, female student PNHT registered her first choice for English; second choice for Chinese; third choice for French; fourth choice for Korean; fifth choice for Russian and sixth choice for Le Hong Phong High School.

The software is programmed based on the candidates' wishes. The female student PNHT was admitted to Le Hong Phong High School but did not enroll, so the software system automatically removed her name from the second admission list.

Representatives of the Department of Education and Training have contacted and discussed directly with the parents of the male student PHH to inform them about the results of the verification of the incident. At the same time, they accepted responsibility and apologized to the family and student for the situation of incorrect results.

Hai Phong Department of Education and Training also announced the incident to enroll female students of PNHT into Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, and male students of PHH into Le Quy Don High School.
