Dozens of Southern universities continue to recruit additional students.

TPO – According to statistics, at the end of the first round, in Ho Chi Minh City there were about 20 universities that did not meet their quota and had to continue recruiting, including many public schools.

Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has just announced additional enrollment for regular university majors in 2024.

Accordingly, for regular university majors with degrees granted by the school, there will be additional recruitment for 6 majors with 150 positions. For these majors, the school will consider admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam. The minimum score for receiving applications is 16 points, which is the score according to the combination of three exam subjects converted to a 30-point scale and rounded to two decimal places, plus regional and subject priority points.

For majors in international joint programs with partners granting degrees, Ho Chi Minh City Open University considers admission based on high school academic results (transcripts). The admission score is also only from 16 points.

The school notes that when candidates are admitted to the joint program but do not have the required English certificate, the school will organize an English exam. Only if they pass will they be officially recognized as admitted.

In the supplementary admission round, each candidate can register two wishes in order of priority from highest to lowest. Candidates are only admitted to one wish. The school accepts supplementary admission applications from 9:00 on August 28 to 17:00 on September 5.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade announces the admission of 4 additional regular university training majors in 2024, including seafood processing technology, chemical engineering technology, environmental engineering technology, and textile technology. The admission methods and application receiving scores are as follows:

– High school graduation exam scores in 2024, application scores from 17 and above for all majors.

– Use high school academic results of grades 10, 11 and semester 1 of grade 12; score to receive application is from 20 or higher.

– Ho Chi Minh City National University's 2024 aptitude test score, from 600 points or higher.

– Direct admission and priority direct admission according to the school's own project, receiving application level from 24 and up.

Application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on August 30.

The Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics announced the additional admission of 100 students for regular university training programs in 2024 at Vinh Long Branch. Accordingly, the time to start receiving applications is from today (August 28) to 5:00 p.m. on September 27.

Additional recruitment sectors include: Business English 5 targets, Tax 10 targets, Technology and Innovation 25 targets, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence 25 targets, Agricultural Business 25 targets, Hotel Management 10 targets.

Ton Duc Thang University enrolls students in many training programs according to 3 admission methods: admission based on high school academic results, admission based on 2024 high school graduation exam results, and admission based on 2024 competency assessment test results of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment also announced an additional recruitment of 360 students based on the results of the high school graduation exam. In the method of considering high school transcripts, the school recruited an additional 285 students. The time to receive applications for both methods is from August 28 to 5:00 p.m. on September 12.

Vietnam Aviation Academy is recruiting 600 additional students, Ho Chi Minh City University of Finance and Marketing is recruiting 50 additional students for the international joint program, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport is also recruiting many additional majors.

Previously, many private universities also announced to receive applications for many majors even though the first round has not ended yet. The additional recruiting schools include: Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Van Lang University, Van Hien University, Saigon International University, Hoa Sen University, Hong Bang International University, Gia Dinh University, Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City...

In addition to universities in Ho Chi Minh City, many other universities in the Southern region such as Lac Hong University (Dong Nai), Thai Binh Duong University and Nha Trang University (Khanh Hoa), Quy Nhon University (Binh Dinh), Central University of Construction, Western University of Construction... also consider recruiting thousands of additional students.

According to a quick report from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2024, the whole country had 733,652 candidates registering for university admission on the system. After virtual filtering, 673,586 candidates were admitted in the first round, reaching over 91% of the number of candidates registered for admission.

By 5:00 p.m. on August 27, the deadline for online admission confirmation on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system (after this time, candidates who do not confirm admission will be considered to have refused the opportunity to be admitted in the first round), the whole country had 551,479 candidates confirming their admission.

Thus, compared to the number of admitted candidates, the number of candidates who confirmed their admission reached nearly 82%. The number of candidates who did not confirm their admission, i.e. refused to be admitted in the first round, was over 122 thousand candidates.

Compared with the number of candidates registering for university entrance exams, the number of candidates confirming admission is over 75%.
