Airlines increase flights, hotels 'full' due to heat of Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2024
Việt Nam•07/07/2024
The atmosphere before the final night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2024 taking place on July 13 is heating up day by day. Airlines are planning to increase flights, many hotels have announced that they are fully booked, and the fireworks viewing area with a capacity of 10,000 people is full.
The final night is considered the most attractive of all DIFF seasons so far, with the "rematch" between the "two arch-rivals" Finland and China, making Da Nang the hottest destination these days. According to information from the Organizing Committee, right from the beginning of the DIFF 2024 season , tickets for the final night "sold out" very early. Therefore, many tourists coming to Da Nang this time are having to look for places to watch fireworks outside Tran Hung Dao Street (Son Tra District). On the social networking forum about Da Nang tourism , there are a series of posts looking for places to watch fireworks, many customers even go to quite far away restaurants with high-floor balconies. The number of flights to Da Nang during this time has also increased significantly. It is estimated that on average, Da Nang will receive about 110 - 120 flights per day, and on July 13, 2024 (the day of the final night of DIFF 2024), there will be about 150 flights, an increase of about 25-35% compared to normal. The heat of the fireworks has spread to the hotels. Accommodation areas with prime locations around the Han River area, the city center or places where it is easy to fully watch the fireworks moment are booked by tourists a month in advance. Many hotels near the beach also recorded a similar situation. Not only hotels near the beach, in the central area, homestays without a beautiful view are still in a state of "full rooms" due to the skyrocketing number of visitors to Da Nang during the final night of the Fireworks Festival. Ms. Thu Hang - owner of a homestay on Tran Bach Dang Street (Son Tra District, Da Nang) said: "Many guests are subjective, waiting until the day of departure to book a hotel room, so it is very difficult to find a room now. My family has sold out all rooms on booking platforms for a long time. My apartment has a view of the city, you can watch fireworks from afar, so on fireworks display nights, there is a surcharge of 10-15% higher than normal days, but guests are still very happy to book rooms." According to information from the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments in the first 3 nights of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2024 reached 198,257, an increase of 11.7% compared to DIFF 2023. And it is predicted that the number of guests staying during the fireworks finale will increase even more. Recently, statistics from the Da Nang Department of Tourism show that in the first 6 months of the year, Da Nang has seen an increase in the number of visitors beyond expectations, especially international visitors, surpassing the peak period of 2019, increasing by more than 40% compared to 2023, reaching 2 million international visitors out of a total of 5.1 million visitors. It can be seen that, along with many famous destinations and large-scale festival events, DIFF has "built a bridge" for more and more international tourists to know and visit the city on the Han River. Previously, the "inconclusive" competition between China and Finland on the 4th night left a special impression with excellent performances that made the audience burst into emotions amidst the artistic sky of light and completely different musical tastes. After this final qualifying round, many tourists want to come to Da Nang to witness the rematch between the two superpowers in the international fireworks industry. With the theme "Future Pulse", the Final Night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2024 takes place at 8:00 p.m. on July 13, 2024, broadcast live on VTV1, promising to bring together unique artistic performances both in the sky and on the magnificent stage along the Han River.
