Hundreds of events held during the national tourism year and Hue Festival 2025

The opening night art program with the theme "Love confession of the river" lasted for more than 90 minutes with the participation of 800 actors and attracted the attention of the people and tourists. The art night ended with the song "Joining hands" by the late musician Trinh Cong Son and a brilliant fireworks display.

The National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 with the theme "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities" has 170 events organized, including 8 national-level activities, 62 provincial-level activities, and 102 response activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh said the National Tourism Year promises to turn Hue into a tourism and cultural center of Vietnam and the region, contributing to promoting and inspiring people to travel, creating momentum to promote the tourism industry to recover and develop quickly and sustainably.

The opening night is also the opening event for a series of cultural, sports and tourism activities taking place across provinces and cities across the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister assessed that in 2023 and 2024, Vietnam's tourism has recovered spectacularly, exceeding the planned target and becoming one of the bright spots of the economy.

Vietnam ranks fourth in the region in terms of arrivals and total tourism revenue. This is a sign of recovery and a testament to the sustainable appeal of domestic tourism on the world map.

2025 is expected to be a milestone marking the strong return of Vietnamese tourism, with "hopeful" goals: welcoming 22 - 23 million international visitors; 120 - 130 million domestic visitors, striving for total tourism revenue of about 980 - 1,050 trillion VND.

"Vietnam is entering a new era, when tourism is not only an experience, but also a bridge of friendship, cooperation and sustainable development," said the Deputy Prime Minister, suggesting that the tourism industry in the coming time needs to develop comprehensively, quickly and sustainably with 6 mottos: "Unique products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Reasonable prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized and friendly destinations".

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of Hue City, said Hue currently has 6 heritages recognized by UNESCO as tangible and intangible cultural heritages of humanity and 2 co-owned heritages.

Taking place over 90 minutes with the participation of nearly 800 actors, the opening art program attracted the attention of locals and tourists.

The city prides itself not only as a tourist destination but also as a place to preserve important cultural values of Vietnam. Hosting the National Tourism Year 2025 is an opportunity for Hue to introduce its cultural, historical and natural beauties to domestic and foreign tourists.
