With extensive experience in Europe, both as a player and coach, Kewell is expected to breathe new life into Hanoi FC's playing style, while helping the team affirm its position not only in the V.League but also on the continental football map.

Born in 1978, Harry Kewell is a familiar face to Vietnamese football fans. In the Australian national team, he played 56 times, scored 17 goals and participated in two World Cups in 2006 and 2010. At the club level, Kewell was a shining star for Leeds United before moving to Liverpool, where he won the UEFA Champions League in the 2004/2005 season and the FA Cup in 2005/2006.

After retiring at the age of 36, Kewell quickly turned to coaching. He started in England with Crawley Town, Notts County, Oldham Athletic and Barnet - destinations that helped him accumulate valuable experience in a harsh football environment. In 2022, Kewell became assistant to Ange Postecoglou at Celtic (Scotland), then went to Japan to lead Yokohama F. Marinos in early 2024. Under Kewell's leadership, Marinos won the 2023/2024 AFC Champions League runner-up - an achievement that affirmed his increasingly mature coaching ability.

For Hanoi FC - the team that has dominated V.League for more than two decades - inviting Kewell to sit in the "hot seat" is not only a professional deal, but also a declaration of a long-term vision: reaching out beyond domestic borders. An icon who once stirred up the Premier League, fought in the World Cup, now appearing at Hang Day - that is proof of the attraction and development aspirations of Hanoi Football Club.

Along with the change in the coaching bench, Mr. Yusuke Adachi - who has been in charge of the team for the last three matches - will return to the role of Technical Director. The Japanese expert will continue to be in charge of the professional orientation of the first team and youth teams, ensuring the continuity of the club's comprehensive development strategy.

The contract with Harry Kewell not only marks a turning point in terms of personnel, but also opens a new chapter for Hanoi FC: from an icon of Vietnamese football, towards a model of a professional club of regional stature.
